Ex-Spurs Player Ryan Sessegnon

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Despite everything I wouldn't be surprised to see him join a promoted club and somehow all of a sudden be fit to play the entire season and tear it up there...

I do feel really sorry for the kid, he had a brief solid spell under Conte that it's a shame he couldn't build on, always looked to be playing with fear.

I hope the club is still going to support him either until either he's back to fitness or another club takes him on and he becomes their issue.
My honest opinion is there’s no chance a club coming up even looks at him. The teams coming up can’t carry passengers and he would be. He’ll struggle to get a championship club unless he goes on trial to prove he can stay fit.

I think it's very sad, it's not as if he kept getting injured on purpose.
Hopefully his next club can resurrect his career, as 24 is far too young to retire.
I know I can be sentimental and there's no room for sentiment in football, but I think he's been very unlucky and I wish him well.

Strange that Ndombele and Lo Celso still have a year left, whilst the young English lad we signed at the same time is expiring? You'd think he'd have been given the same length deal at least wouldn't you?

I assume he had a +12 month option that we've not taken up?
According to the OS statement which I have posted a couple of times his contract is until next year.

As a free-agent he'll find somewhere I'm sure.

Shame. Nice kid, but what a disaster.

He clocked just 7mins this season.

5 years:
57 apps (all comps) / 3 goals / 4 assts.

Makes Lo Celso look like a triumph:
108 apps (all comps) / 10 goals / 8 assts.

.....And fwiw McDombele:
91 apps (all comps) / 10 goals / 9 assts.

Because he cost us £25 mil and was a hot prospect not to long ago, someone decent will take advantage of the situation
Aren't you coming at that solution from the wrong direction? You know, his failure to catch on here is not solely down to his injuries. Perhaps we overpaid in the first place. We can't expect another team to do the same predicated on the fact that we did. He went on loan to Hoffenheim and they weren't so eager to actually spend money on him...and he was mostly fit during that time.

Think this kid resurfacing at a "decent prem club" in the near future is unlikely based on fitness and ability. Seems more likely to show up with his brother at Bristol. Good luck and good health to him. It's been a long time since he banged one in at Bayern.

Also depends on what you refer to as decent

Any club in the Prem that's been in the league longer than 2 seasons is decent in my book

On here I can't remember who I was talking to but he basically called Tanganga shit because he plays for Millwall when in fact he's a millionaire via football and isn't shit, just isn't elite

Sessegnon will have alot of suitors

They wont have to... He'll be free and whoever wants him will be able to negotiate wages with a clean slate too.

He was sent to Hoff to develop; not to be fattened up for sale.

Whoever he signs with will be rolling the dice that his injury probs are finally behind him having now had surgeries on BOTH hamstrings........ If they get that player then you get a decent mid-table LB who may even grab the odd goal or assist if the manager is so inclined.

I was quoting you...
Think he will get a decent Prem club
...but I assume most reasonable people's definitions would be similar.

Any club in the Prem that's been in the league longer than 2 seasons is decent in my book
Ok, that's a fine definition...that leaves...Forest, Brentford, Eve, Bournemouth, wolves, Fulham (didn't want him back and have Robertson who's light years better), BHA, Palace, WHam...anyone higher than that is unreasonable I believe. Can't see many in there but at a stretch someone may try a pay-as-you-play situation...doubt it though, as his deficiency wasn't solely in his fitness. Shows the error in recruiting a player based only on his goal output...

Well, this is similar to the reasoning about Sess...making money at something doesn't mean you are not shit. This player is more athlete than footballer...but I take your point.

Sessegnon will have alot of suitors
Maybe...obviously his agent would like us to think so...but the point of contention was whether they'd be "decent prem club(s)". I'm dubious of that point.

No they won’t because he has no heart to play in the premier league. I will bet you he doesn’t play in the premier league again.
I hope the lad gets over his injury issues because it must be affecting him mentally but even when he was fit I saw nothing to think he’d be a good player for us.

I don't think he was ever really good enough when he played however I do feel for him having his career destroyed by injuries to this point. Never worked out here however I wish him fitness and many playing years at whatever level that may be at.

What a disappointment. Had high hopes for Sess but he never lived up to his potential.

Shame but he’s got time on his side.

Struggling to think of any highlights of his time with us.
