Okay, there's a caveat to this in that we're going to the biggest team to play second-tier football in the modern era. It's possible that clubs who never normally sell out at home might think they can against us, and reduce allocations. But that's mostly pretty unlikely because of segregation issues etc. So these are the likely allocations we can expect next season, based on what teams are giving currently. I hope everyone's been collecting their ticketing points! (Demand may also be slightly lower due to fixture times - more Championship games are midweek, and most of our weekend matches will be moved to a TV slot i.e. Friday night or Saturday 12.30pm)

Blackburn Rovers: 7,200
Preston North End: 5,600
Bristol City: 3,400
Stoke City: 3,400
Southampton*: 3,200
Cardiff City: 3,200
Charlton: 3,100
Derby County*: 3,100
Wolverhampton Wanderers: 3,000
Millwall*: 3,000
Sheffield United: 2,700
West Bromwich Albion: 2,500
Burnley: 2,300
Hull City*: 2,300
Birmingham City: 2,300
Portsmouth: 2,200
Watford: 2,100
Middlesbrough*: 2,100
Ipswich Town*: 2,000
Swansea City: 2,000
Norwich City: 2,000
Lincoln City: 1,800
Queens Park Rangers: 1,800
Wrexham*: 1,300

*Two of these teams will be promoted

Plus also the League One playoff winner from:

Bradford City 2,800
Bolton Wanderers 2,600
Stevenage Borough 1,500
Luton Town 1,300
Stockport County 1,200

It's unlikely, but Wrexham may also be increased to the compulsory 10% e.g. 1,600 or more if their new stand opens on time in early 2027 and the league forces them to change it mid-season.

Just did an interesting comparison of the different models across the top 2 divisions in the big 5 European leagues. The German model of 50+1 fan involvement is streets ahead.

📊 1. Price Per Game (League Matches Only)
Assumptions:
Most leagues: 19 home games (20 in 2nd tiers like EFL Championship / Ligue 2)
🇬🇧 England
Premier League: ~£650 ÷ 19 ≈ £34/game
EFL Championship: ~£450 ÷ 23 ≈ £20/game
🇪🇸 Spain
La Liga: ~€600 ÷ 19 ≈ €32/game
Segunda División: ~€350 ÷ 21 ≈ €17/game
🇩🇪 Germany
Bundesliga: ~€325 ÷ 17 ≈ €19/game
Bundesliga: ~€250 ÷ 17 ≈ €15/game
🇮🇹 Italy
Serie A: ~€550 ÷ 19 ≈ €29/game
Serie B: ~€325 ÷ 19 ≈ €17/game
🇫🇷 France
Ligue 1: ~€400 ÷ 17 ≈ €24/game
Ligue 2: ~€250 ÷ 19 ≈ €13/game
💰 2. % of Median Annual Income
Using rough median incomes:
UK: ~£35,000
Spain: ~€27,000
Germany: ~€43,000
Italy: ~€30,000
France: ~€35,000

Top Divisions
England: ~1.9%
Spain: ~2.2%
Germany: ~0.8%
Italy: ~1.8%
France: ~1.1%

Second Divisions
England: ~1.3%
Spain: ~1.3%
Germany: ~0.6%
Italy: ~1.1%
France: ~0.7%
👉 This is where things flip:
Germany becomes dramatically more affordable
Spain becomes one of the least affordable relative to income

Bundesliga fans pay:
~40–50% less per game
~2–3× lower income burden
That’s not random—it reflects governance (fan ownership influence).

Just for interest. For me interesting to see the effect of a single club city compared to Birmingham which has about big 4 Midlands teams.

Season Ticket Prices Around Relegation (2015–16 → 2016–17)
🟣 Aston Villa
2015–16 (Relegation Season – Premier League)
Adult season tickets: ~£355 → £699
Typical mid-range: ~£450–£500
2016–17 (First Championship Season)
Prices cut significantly (~25–30%)
New range: ~£299 → £599
Mid-range: ~£350–£400
👉 Strategy:
Villa aggressively reduced prices to:
Maintain attendance after relegation
Rebuild fan engagement after a poor season

⚫ Newcastle United
2015–16 (Relegation Season – Premier League)
Adult season tickets: ~£299 → £899
Mid-range: ~£500–£550
2016–17 (Championship Season)
Prices frozen (no increase, minimal reduction)
Range stayed roughly: ~£299 → £899
👉 Strategy:
Newcastle took a very different approach:
Relied on extremely strong demand + loyalty
Minimal price drop despite relegation
Still achieved ~50 ,000+ average attendance

The deal where you could freeze the season ticket prices was for 10 years.

Mike Ashley is more in line with ENIC.
I'd imagine, with our stadium format, the pricing is much more complicated than Villa and Newcastle were. IE, premium seats with premium concessions nearby then the luxo boxes etc.
I'd also bet my arse, our cheap seats are few and far between, whereas the Villa and Newcastle cheap seats are/were plentiful.

Updated this to current permutations, and added the potential L1 playoff winners now that picture's a bit clearer. If we go down then from an away allocations POV we want Ipswich or Middlesbrough up in the automatics, Wrexham up in the playoffs, and Bolton or Bradford up from L1.

I don't think it will be current prices.
We are run as a business and it's a bad business decision to keep the prices the same. Sell 35000 season tickets at £700 or 20000 at £1200.
Plus all the extra fans at the ground buying food, drinks and merchandise

Yeah i think I've changed my mind on this and agree with you. Thinking about it, if you charge say 1500 for a season ticket, at 79 a game, surely you can't then charge 30 or 40 quid for the same seats to OH members. They wouldn't be able to sell individual games at the prices a st holder had paid. And they'd lose all those OH members as what's the point paying 50 quid for the 'chance' to buy tickets for 80 quid against QPR on a Tuesday night.

If the worse happens there will be an update next week. It would have been prepared already in the case of relegation. Prices will have to come down, and significantly. You can claim that we would get 4 extra games for the same money but paying the same prices as currently set means members will be paying through the nose for matchday prices. The club will know they aren't going to get away with charging £50 and upwards for championship matchday tickets.
