Not sure if I understand your point here completely though. Is it that Levy would still be fucked even if he kept Conte because he had no one to replace him by June anyway? I disagree with that a little bit because Conte would have steered us to 4th or 5th in the league, and our options would have been different than finishing 8th. In fact, Conte would have been the best option again, because despite his shite football in the end, he got us over the line into the Champions League, and left us in 4th, which not even Mourinho or Ange could do.
Levy genuinely gets scared when managers like Mourinho or Conte tell him the truth, to the point where he sacks them even before they can deliver short-term success. It is to the point where it is pointless hiring a manager and Levy should appoint and sack himself. If the top manager positions are gone and Daniel doesn't want to do it, I'd just give it to an outlier like Ledley King. He'd probably bring a mix of the best Spurs mangers he has worked and played under. It could either go the way of Zidane or Solskjaer. And I wouldn't care.
