Today's defeat might have stung less if I actually saw any of that though. It was just all round garbage.

Think we're agreed it's not enough though..which levy implied when ange joined and he delighted in the plaudits spurs got for playing attacking football. I just want to see some genuine ambition, I don't care who the manager is as they dont control that but certainly don't think ange has done enough to win the fans hearts. He's even shown disdain to the concept of respecting a longstanding rivalry with Woolwich

On the other hand, in that Conte episode we sacked him in March and Levy still couldn't find anyone to manage the team by late June and had to make a panic hire
Not sure if I understand your point here completely though. Is it that Levy would still be fucked even if he kept Conte because he had no one to replace him by June anyway? I disagree with that a little bit because Conte would have steered us to 4th or 5th in the league, and our options would have been different than finishing 8th. In fact, Conte would have been the best option again, because despite his shite football in the end, he got us over the line into the Champions League, and left us in 4th, which not even Mourinho or Ange could do.

Levy genuinely gets scared when managers like Mourinho or Conte tell him the truth, to the point where he sacks them even before they can deliver short-term success. It is to the point where it is pointless hiring a manager and Levy should appoint and sack himself. If the top managers are gone and Daniel doesn't want to do it, I'd just give it to an outlier like Ledley King. He'd probably bring a mix of the best Spurs mangers he has worked and played under. It could either go the way of Zidane or Solskjaer. And I wouldn't care.

Thomas Frank. We’ve now got the players for a 343/3412/3421 something both Jose and Conte needed. We played our best football under Poch (pre his demise) with a wing back system.

For now (and when fit):

—————————— Vicario —————————
——— Romero - Dragusin - Van de Ven ———
Porro ——— Sarr —— Bissouma ——— Udogie
————————— Kulusevski ———————
—————— Solanke —— Son ———————

Frank is probably the best we could secure at this point. Out of the Poch mold, a manager doing an excellent job maxing out the potential of a lower tier club who will want to get out while the iron is hot.

We're also seemingly the best likely option, as all the other clubs you could say were "better" options don't look likely to be appointing a new manager in the near term.

The problem, of course, is we've spent the Kane fee on Johnson and Odobert. It's not going to be attractive to cast them both off as you have in your lineup.

I think very highly of Frank but I can't even begin to understand why anyone would think we have the defenders to defend the actual box in a low or mid-low block at the moment. Have you not watched us this season?

I'm so depressed at the state of our defending. VDV and Cuti are great chasing someone down but they can't stand anyone up to save their lives... And the less said about Porro's defending...

Fuck me. I'd prefer the suicidal highline over trying to get these guys to soak up pressure

We have a squad full of shite. Yes we should be doing a lot better especially in defence, but untill we actually start showing some ambition and signing better players , nothing will change.

Not sure I care much tbh as the poison dwarf is the problem.

It does annoy me though as our manager stands there leaden on the sidelines whilst the likes of McKenna, Frank etc are up and down for 90 mins geeing up their players. I do wonder if Poste being somewhat, um, portly is the right look for an elite sporting environment.

I love Ledley as much as the next Spurs fan. But no chance it would turn out like Zidane 😂

Doesn’t matter who we have in. The manager isn’t solely to blame.

As fans we don’t have patience. We’d be back in this situation in 18 months time regardless of the manager.

As a club football isn’t the priority. Thats evident from all the other goings on, the wage cuts and the slimming of the squad.

As a board we just have people wanting to make a buck. Trophies come second.

Ange has questions over him, he’s not blameless. But any manager that comes in will be in the same position. I’ve seen people suggest the Bournemouth coach and Brighton coach… the matter of the fact is they don’t have the expectations over them that a Tottenham coach does. They’d struggle as the rest have.

I like Ange, and want him to succeed but it takes patience from every area.

Jocky Wilson became Champion of the World.

That bloke from Hawaii did well at Sumo .

It can be done ….

Just a young man shouting at clouds here, and I think Ange will last the season with our up and down form - we're still very much in it, though today was properly shite.

Looking ahead to who does replace him - decent candidates with PL experience are De Zerbi, Iraola, Frank, maybe McKenna, perhaps even Potter as an outside bet. I'm sure there are good people in leagues I know nothing about.

Whoever comes in will need to be a type to make a team more than the sum of its parts, assuming Levy/ENIC are still here, that's the vital thing.

Sure, let him have a quack at it.
