Disagree , heres why...
- Toney Suspension : Brentford lost their best goal threat for 8 months and they couldnt replace him.
- Brentford with a small squad had 21 injuries, with 11 of them requiring surgeries. Of the injured, 3 were serious knee injuries, 2 foot, 3 had bad ankle injuries , 1 hamstring, 1 abductor and 1 other... meaning not many muscle but other serious injuries
Brentford regardless finished 16th.
And what more, Thomas Frank started using Mbuemo & Wissa upfront this season and started playing totally different way. He showed he can play through the lines instead of going direct to target man.
Spurs on other hand , for the 2 seasons of Ange
2023/24 : No Europe. 1430 man days lost to injuries. 22 individual injuries (most by any club).
2024/25 : 1300 man days lost to injuries.
Most injuries muscle...but then squad is one of the youngest in PL. How can one of the youngest squad also be one of the most unfit and injured. May be answer in Ange's past.
Here's Ange on Celtic injuries (quote from dec2021) :
"No, it’s not possible. It’s a by-product of the team we want to be and it’s part of the process. I’ve been through it a number of times with teams I’ve taken over and the initial process is always difficult."
So on one hand you have Ange, who has repeated failures of sustaining consistency across multiple competition due to injuries that were made by his tactics.... Vs Another manager, who also had to go through injury crisis and player ban but not of his making...but the end product there was, he learned he cant rely on a set player or system and made the Brentford team better after the crisis
Also that post references of 'oh Frank could be another Potter'...but why not Frank could be another Howe or Kompany or Maresca or Arteta or Poch ?
