Match Spurs v Barcodes. Saturday 4 January 2025 KO 12:30. Live on TNT

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Considering all the gloom and predictions before the match the outcome was better than most on here expected. Never happy with a defeat especially at home but with a rooky GK & Gray & Spence as CB's for the whole 2nd half it was not the disaster we all expected. We could have scored more unlike some matches where we never look like scoring.
No one expects us to win Wednesday and even a narrow win would likely be overturned in the 2nd leg. However we must stick with Ange.

Can someone now explain to me what was the logic of keeping Johnson and taking off Bergvall? You could see on the right side Porro/Kulu/Johnson ALL stuck on the right side and all seemed not knowing what they are supposed to do or what the other 2 were there for?

If you are going to tel Kulu to go on the right, shouldn't keeping Bergvall on instead of Johnson given you more control in the middle? Especially the way he was performing.

UNBELIEVABLE
Ange kept Kulu and Johnson purely on blind faith that one has a never-ending pool of energy and one could come up with a goal from nowhere respectively. Neither did better than Bergvall. Ange is not really a manager of merits IMO. I'm disappointed.

No it isn't - it's not even remotely objective as it ignores far too many key issues, not least of which was evident today in the state of the team. If you bozo's honestly believe that we can take on top 4 teams in this league with our entire first choice defence missing then you are totally bereft of any understanding about football.

But you're simple folk, as long as you have a chosen villain to demand the hanging of, without caring about the issues or the impact of your grievance, then you're all happy.
It’s almost impressive how some can conveniently ignore the fact that our performances were faltering well before injuries took their toll. It’s like watching someone repeatedly trip over their own feet and insisting it’s only the floor’s fault.

Maybe it’s just easier to ignore the deeper issues in favour of a scapegoat like the “simple folk” hey?

How would you have managed the game differently with the tools Ange had at his disposal?

Ange isn’t perfect but we didn’t lose that game because of him, this witch hunt needs to stop

Luckily the fans that actually go to games understand the context of the situation

We’re going to sleepwalk in to a relegation fight and there will be posts like this every single week.

I thought we played arguably our best stuff in the 2nd half...
If that was the opposition piling on us at 2-1 down, the equaliser would've been inevitable (bit like Wolves last week)
But it seems that when we play well, we DON'T get what we deserve, yet when we've played badly, we get EXACTLY what we deserve!
Go figure....?

Snot fair!

Somewhere, I'm an alternate Spurs universe, we're top of the league and have a fully fit squad!!

When's the next rocketship to THAT place!

A lack of real quality in the final third. None of our attacking players get into the big teams. The last truly top attacking signing this club made was Son and that was nearly 10 years ago

I can't believe people are questioning that performance! We played the entire second half with Spence and Gray at centre back and somehow kept a clean sheet!

I feared the worst today. Thought we'd lose by 3 or 4 but we matched them and deserved something out of the game!

We aren't too far from getting some players back! There is light coming at the end of this dark dark tunnel! The last month has been proper trenches but we'll come out of this a much better side
I don’t actually think our coaches are PL quality. We did well against Newcastle holding onto a lead and time wasting, but they knew that there was a good chance we wouldn’t score. Shit ref aside, just look how organized they were defensively. It’s crazy how big of a contrast there is.

Seems to me that "illness crisis" was vastly overstated, a pre-planned excuse perhaps.

Dragusin is shit. We looked way better spence and gray there. Can play out from back. Were going down if something dont change.

We aren’t mate, the sad part of the reason for that is because there’s four or five teams who are genuinely just worse than us. Southampton, Ipswich and one of the Leicester, Palace, Everton, Wolves group will drop.

It doesn’t bode well for us as we are very much in relegation form, but there are worse teams. It just makes it worse that we should be so much higher than we are with leadership and proper coaching.

Now if we finish low and lose players… then that’s a different story.
