Youth Spurs Youth 2021/22

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I hope we do start playing 343/352 at youth level

Conte won't be here long term but I think Paratici will be and he should set out how we play
agreed, but think we should get the kids to play other modern formations too - such as 4231 as Conte wont be here forever, some players will naturally look better in other formations (which is fine, and if Conte here they might move on for a fee), and many players will need to adopt to other formations on loan ..... and indeed over 90% will not end up in Spurs first team so need to adopt to other managers.

I agree. Fundamentally, young players should get a rounded football education. Plus, once they go on loan, they will inevitably experience a different coaching style & set of tactics.

IIRC Terry Venables, by common consent a highly innovative coach, used to play a young Kenny Sansom in different positions in the youth team, to improve his understanding of interplay and the demands of other roles. So when he returned to his core position of LB, he knew what his teammates expected of him.

That said, if the first team is playing 3 CBs and WBs rather than FBs, our players closest to the first team surely need to experience these tactical responsiblities in match situations.

We saw how players like Ben Davies, Dier & Sessegnon improved once they fully understood Conte's tactical demands. Part of that was the training ground, but I'm sure match experience was crucial too.

Whilst I agree with that I think the DoF should set the style, the next manager we have should play with wingbacks, they way he built the squad it was clear he wanted us to do that, not sure why Nuno never played it tbh

Our u21's will return to Brittainy again for this traditional pre-season tournament (run at the French FA main training centre I think) - good experience of playing against some europoean sides.

We are the only English side and last won the competition in 2017.

I'd hope the Club would extend his contract for another couple of years, play him this preseason, probably loan him to Championship next season and see what's he's like at the end of that season. Did well on loan last season, so nowhere near his potential ceiling

Scarlett with the assist for England's goal just before half time. Devine the more impressive of the two. Ronnie Edwards good at cb. Chukwuameka is a big talent, gives the ball away a lot though.
