Youth Spurs Youth 2023/24

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Glad there's no u21 game this weekend because the u21s are starting to get a bit depleted too. Phillips, Sayers, Craig, Santiago all potentially injured plus 4 potentially with first team.

Not really spurs youth related but heard Dom Ballard picked up what looks like a really bad injury, possibly ACL gone, while on loan at Reading from Saints. Mentioned him a few times in this thread because he's the England u19s current starting forward ahead of Lankshear. Think we had Lyons-Foster and Ashcroft do their ACLs last year as well as Bentancur and Perisic from the first team. Can get every development decision right but also need quite a lot of luck injury-wise to make it

Lewis Miley getting minutes in the PL for Newcastle at 17. Is he a bigger talent than Donley? I doubt it.

Hopefully Donley (18) gets his chance today.

Well, he started because they literally had no other midfielders available (and he'd been given minutes here and there all season)

Donleys been given none and even without Maddison available, there's still Skipp, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Lo Celso and Sarr ahead of him for now.

Main thing for me is it's encouraging to see someone like that make an impact, because Donley can make those kinds of assists too.

He's behind Maddison and Lo Celso for that creative 8/10 role, but if we are struggling for goals, hopefully Ange sees him as a good option.

I would love to see Donley given more minutes tbh. I hope he's on the bench today and given minutes regardless of score.

So our next under 21 game is at home on the Saturday...

Donley and Dorrington will likely be with first team again who are away in Manchester on Sunday

As far as we know: Phillips, Sayers, Craig, Santiago, Abbott, Heaps?, Linton? all injured + Mikey Moore who would likely have been a candidate to move up.
Obviously somebody might have come back over the break but maybe only a couple of u18s would move up, something like:

Soonsup-Bell - Lankshear - Williams
John
Cassanova - Kyerematen
Ashcroft - Andiyapan - Lyons-Foster - McKnight
Keeley

Bench: Gunter, Robson, Chaplin, Hall, Ajayi

11.00 am Saturday 2 December Fulham u18's v Spurs u18's (u21's play at 12.00)

Last u18 team :

Bloedorn, Black, Akhamrich (Logan 73), King, Chaplin (c), Hall, Irow (Orr 90), Morgan, Lehane (Adewole 82), Ajayi, James.
Substitutes (not used): Archer, Egan-Riley.

Callum Olusesi should be returning (was on international duty last match)
A few injuries such as James Rowswell, Gabriel Wilhoft-King but chances are they won't be back.

If Spurs u21's need Archie Chaplin, Tyrese Hall and Damola Ajayi are needed for u21's, chances are a couple of Spurs u16's may need to move up. Malachi Hardy (CB), Junai Byfield (CB), Luca Williams-Barnett (AM/RW) and Rio Bromfield (LB) were called up for E u16's at the start of November, so are likely candidates as are a few others.

FA Youth Cup 3rd Round

We can confirm that our FA Youth Cup third round tie away to Brentford will be played on Tuesday 5 December at Wheatsheaf Park in Staines.

Kick-off will be at 7pm.

Tickets are on sale in advance via Brentford’s eTicketing website, priced as follows:

Adult: £5
Concession: £3
Junior: £1

There must be a winner on the night - should the scores be level after 90 minutes, extra time and then penalties if required will take place to determine who advances to round four.

Annoyingly, I have a work do that evening. It’s near to me so was hoping to go.
