Injuries killed last season.
It would be ironic if we have a situation this season where players are getting the hump with not getting selected.

It would be ironic if we have a situation this season where players are getting the hump with not getting selected.

This season we have a minimum of 8 more matches in EL from being in the EL League stage and I'm hopeful we should get at least another couple of rounds after that, so 12+ extra matches could be say 15 more.

And rather than not getting past first round of League cup, maybe its an extra 4 or 5 matches. Ditto FA Cup

So its quite possible we move from about 40 matches last season to closer to 60 matches this season.

And whilst we hope not to get last season's injuries again, a few injuries are likely. But whereas last season we struggled with 40 matches we may need the extra players we now have to deal with 60 matches this season

I think the squad is set til January. We have cover in every position and 3rd string attacking options in Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear who should get some game time off the bench.

GK: 1 Vicario, 20 Forster, 40 Austin
RB: 23 Pedro Porro, 14 Gray
RCB: 17 Romero, 6 Dragusin
LCB: 37 van de Ven, 33 Davies
LB: 13 Udogie, 24 Spence
DM: 8 Bissouma, 30 Bentancur
RCM: 15 Bergvall, 29 Sarr
LAM: 21 Kulusevski, 10 Maddison
RW: 22 Johnson, 28 Odobert, 59 Moore
ST: 19 Solanke, 9 Richarlison, 62 Lankshear
LW: 7 Son, 16 Werner, 59 Moore

Transfer Listed: 3 Regulion, 18 Lo Celso, 27 Solomon

Excluding the transfer listed players, its a squad of 25, which I think is a perfect number for Ange to work with.

I think that’s ok. I have more faith in us actually making a few signings quickly in Jan if required unlike most other seasons

Still think we will see one more addition in CM because GLC will go. But other than that it’s pretty well set

Maximum of 69 if we go all the way in every competition and require play off in Europa group stage.

Minimum of 48 if we go out at the first hurdle in everything.

ATM Alfie Devine has not gone on loan, and did quite well in pre-season, so I'm hoping he stays as part of the squad next season, providing Ange gives both him and Lankshear say 1,000 min play time this season.

Alfie was brought in to Spurs about 4 years ago now as a DLP, but has played mostly in Spurs youth as more of a 10, and for E u19 and E u20 as a RW as he's pretty versatile anywhere in that midfield area.

Good passer, tackler, presser, decent shot so will chip in with goals and assists, resilient and athletic like a dynamo - will get stuck in if necessary (but usually doesn't need to) as Drinkwater (E international at Chelsea( found when drafted in as an overage player for Chelsea u21's when he tried to take 'liberties' with 16 year old Devine making his u21 debut. Drinkwater ended up virtually in tears lying on the ground for a good 5 minutes ...... but no foul given (nb Alfie's father was a top Rugby League player and I suspect taught Alfie the black arts) : Drinkwater didn't try it on again during rest of the game

Easily fits into an RCM, DM or RAM type role.

Shame really. Never seemed to fully recover from an injury right at the end of his Norwich loan and has not reproduced his pre-injury form (although both he and Sarr played fantastically as a CM2 against AC Milan coming out on top against them under Conte - who never played either player after that game !) and now with Spurs getting in some top class midfield players its time for Skipp to move on for his own sake.

Thanks for his time at Spurs and best of luck for the future.

Really wouldn't hate it.

We actually need to 'lose' not just Reguilon, Lo Celso and Solomon but also one other non 'Club Trained' or non List B player to fit within EL/uefa squad rules.

Who is a good question, options might include either Forster (our no. 2 GK) or Richarlison if he is not fully fit

No problem with the squad in PL and domestic cups though, just EL

If Richarlison isn't registered for Europe what is even the point? He's not going to start in the league.

The question is who to drop from the squad so it fits within the uefa squad rules.

IMO (and open for others to suggest alternatives) the most likely would be Forster or Richarlison.

But whichever, they could still play up to 50 games in PL and domestic cups for us, so still a decent no of games, but not the circa 8 - 20 games in EL

Why the hell do Gil and PEH still have their numbers, while they're both loans with obligations to buy? 2 first team numbers gone for no reason...
Because they have not formally left yet. They still require to be part of our structure while under contract with us.

When Perisic came in and wanted number 14 we didn't just send Rodon on loan. We made him switch to 22 first.

Gil's is also a straight loan. No option.
