Tactics Starting 11 for the 22/23 season?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Richarlison I'm torn on as I love, love, love Kulu, but I can see why Richarlison might start.
If Richarlison is going to be an effective rotation player for us, he's going to need matches to break in to our style of play.

We already know that he is ineligible for the first game of the season so Kulu should start that one but I expect Richarlison to start against Chelsea.

No chance. Richarlison is Son and Kane's competition. Kulusevski offers us something completely different, while Richarlison leans more towards Sonny's style of play.

Whoever Don Conte wants to play is my guess.

I suppose with the 5 subs thing it might be best to pick a 16...
I have a feeling the new guys will wait a while before they all get a foothold into the first 11, especially Richarlison over Kulusevski and Lenglet over Davies

I dunno mate.

Nobody should be a guaranteed starter.
What you seem to be implying is that regardless of how Son, Kane, and Kulu play then one of them will be dropped to accommodate richarlison ?

Never a good idea, although I will say that although I love Kulu he rarely (?????) completed 90 mins.

Wins with scores like 3:0 is going to be the new 1:0 and 5:1 or 6:1 would be like 3:1 victories we used to get whatever the starting 11 would shape up to be this season. We should have the team jelled and clicking and beating everyone up by October Imo

Not sure I agree with that. Kulu offers something different to those 3, but stylistically Rich is different to Kane/Son - however his best position is left or central. Can’t wait to see him chasing and harrying and being a nuisance

we should stop thinking first xi

3 keepers
6 centre backs
4 full backs
4 centre mids
6 forwards

I thought the whole point of strength in depth is that we don't have a definitive starting XI....

It'll be any 11 from 18/22 squad players... Without disrupting the team.
That's the dream isn't it?

You still have to pick the best 11 what you think will win you the game every week though. Well, Conte does at least.

The thread was 'starting XI for the 2022/23 season'... and there isn't a definitive one.

The XI Conte picks for Southampton at home may well differ from the one he picks at Stamford Bridge a week later.... and so it should!
