Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My cousin played for West Ham in the mid-late 90s, and I met up with him after a Spurs game at Upton Park once. He got me into the players lounge (it was a shitty little bar). Spoke to a couple of Spurs players such as Anderton (who was the first player to enter the lounge), but the thing that stood out for me most was that Ian Dowie was clearly some sort of dodgy Arthur Daley type character. He was selling shit to all the West Ham players - and I'm guessing the majority of it was probably pornos.

Late 90s the internet would have been around tho? My understanding is there is porn on there.

Bumped into Ian wright at some motorway services.
Shouted COYS , he laughed and came over, was good fun and had a quick chat.

Met a few of the spurs players in the late 80s early 90s mostly after home games.

Mabs was a hero to me, played for our local team, rovers, before moving to spurs. They say you shouldn’t meet your heroes, but Gary is the exception. Like his dad before him and his brother, Kevin, a great bloke.

Met Ossie and I was lost for words, he said hello and smiled. I just gawped….he probably thought I was bit backwards!

Lineker was aloof, sedgely was a good laugh as was Edinburgh.

Paul Allen was also very friendly, very dry humour, have bumped into Clive and introduced my son to him, by saying this man scored 49 goals in a season, Clive replied’ wish I had won something though’

At a mates 14th birthday we went to the Sports Cafe in the West End (food and then arcades etc).
Forest had played in London and in came Steve Stone, Mark Crossley and Kevin Campbell. The first two pretty much ignored us (weren’t rude but not interested) whereas Campbell, despite us giving him some ex-Gooner shit, was an absolute gent and set up a shooting competition on the basketball hoop giving the winner a tenner.
Was a very conflicting experience as I felt I should hate him but he was charming!

Bloody Hell, you were just talking about Kevin Campbell this morning and the news are reporting he had died. Taken into hospital for Sepsis apparently. Only 54. RIP.

Done this before but - one more time
Met Gary Lineker outside old wembley for the Newcastle/Manure final, he was there with his two boys and I spoke to him for about 5 minutes, and he was friendly and chatty. Saw him again at half time getting the boys food and drinks and he said hello, without prompting. All in all a positive experience.

I went to school and had Danny Thomas's brother (Valmore) in my Year, the year below had his other brother Clive, and two years down was Danny. At lunchtimes he would play football with our year and he was a nightmare, as no bugger could get the ball off him, and he was so talented it was amazing to watch. If you kicked him, you had to deal with his brother - who was nails.
I had a pair of addidas boots that I wore once or twice before I grew out of them, so I gave them to Danny (his family were low income, and the boys wore donated uniforms etc) and he was over the moon, even though they were a bit too big for him. He could have played in frogmans flippers and he would still have been better than everyone else.

Valmore went to Hereford, and Danny followed him for a short time, before moving to Coventry.

Was chuffed to see him play for us, and gutted in equal measure when he was crippled. Such a shame that acl repairs werent a thing back then. Ironically Valmore suffered from knee problems as well.
