Transfers Summer 2016 Transfer Window Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I get it, trust me Zaha isn't at the top of my wish list. We have left it so late, we will have to overpay. My point more being it is the clubs money but some supporters act as if they are ponying up the extra 5 million out of their own pockets.

The club obviously is in very good hands financially, I get no satisfaction when we have a negative or equal net spend I would rather get a player in that could help us on the pitch. Levy seems to have brainwashed some.
I don't care about net spend either, I am just confused why a chairman who clearly is a tight bugger has left it so late again.

I also never understand the outrage some supporters have with high fees the club pays. It is not like we are accountants who balance the books. Like buying Zaha at 15m is ok but 24m is too much? The self satisfaction of knowing we didn't overpay exceeds adding a useful squad option? I don't get it

The outrage comes when the fans have to pay more to watch matches, buy expensive merchandise. To supplement paying the players ridiculous salaries and transfer fees. The money comes from somewhere, it's not just TV money. Paying £25m for a player who is a bit pacy and young is mad money. Zaha isn't worth £10m, however market forces dictate paying over £25m because English clubs are richer and more desperate. I'd much rather promote from within our academy than have 7 £20m+ players sat on our bench not displacing our regular 11.

Clearly fake... that's the long haul check-in desks... not European... there's no way he'd be coming through that terminal...
Anyway, I've gone right off him, who wears their kit going through an Airport terminal...? Full Kit Wanker!

Well its clear to me that he's obviously practicing his dribbling plus " in for the long haul " means he's committed

Put your castle on it happening

The money doesn't come from supporters though. It comes from a magical pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, so why not spend it all?

Well you can't have it both ways. If we want to compete at the top you are going to need some other options other than youth players. Just look around us in the table even Leicester have spent a large amount of money to try and keep pace with the big spenders. As for the trickle down effect to tickets and merchandise, of course this is getting more and more expensive but it's not just a Tottenham problem it's all over world football. However, I highly doubt a 5m difference in what we pay for Wilfred Zaha (or any transfer) is going to affect the bottom line of what supporters are paying.

That's not how a market economy works.
Football clubs are run by businessmen. They react to supply and demand. If they can fill a stadium with £100 seats, they'll do it, no matter how low players' fees and salaries remain. The same goes for selling £100 shirts.

The fees and salaries rise because the market is willing to pay more, making players, agents etc. demand more, as they want their "cut". It's not the other way around.

Prepare for this....

Totally agree mate. I couldn't give a flying toss about net spend and how much money we make on Chadli. I couldn't give a shit wether Levy is a "genius" for malking a few extra mil. What does that give us? Another trophyless season with no real ambition. As a club i want to see spurs win things but instead we are left to just accept Levy prancing around on the last day of the window like he does every year making these pathetic bids on players so he can atleast say " i tried" ... the guy is a bald plank and makes the same mistakes year in year out. It's about time supporters crawled out of Levy's tight bald asshole and realised this guy might be good for the club in the background with the stadium etc but he's an absolute fucking nightmare when it comes to transfers.
