It might sound silly to some, but the Brexit is probably playing a big part in some of the moves as well. Leaving Europe could/will have a massive effect on football.
Not silly at all. If we do vote to leave the EU then that makes work permits necessary for European players doesn't it?
Well, maybe not the superstars, but priority will have to be given to other European migrant workers who play their trade in essential services. If we do decide to leave, their will be quotas, limits and footballers will not be priority.
It would be a disaster for the PL, as they would not be able to attract enough 'stars' and would lose ground in international sponsorship and broadcasting rights to other European top leagues. Scudamore would be pulling his fucking hair out.
It would also affect the top European coaches available I suppose.
The FA may not be too concerned though.
Edit: Just been reading the arguments made by the leave campaign and they have a different spin on it.
They say they would be free to set their own rules on migration, visas and permits.
they say that at the moment we are prevented opportunities from nurturing domestic and bringing other talent form across the world.
This hurts clubs abilities to bring players from outside the EU while preventing any limits from being imposed within the EU because of the 1995 Bosman ruling by the European court of Justice.
They say it will be better if the UK and the FA decide who plays in the PL from abroad rather than unelected EU judges.
