Dembele has been a wonderful player for us and we'll certainly miss him if we don't adequately replace him.

But, the fact that he's moving to China tells you everything you need to know about what his priorities are. He's looking for a final pay day which I have nothing against. Footballers have a career for a finite amount of time, and he's within his rights to earn as much as he can. But, his motivations clearly aren't in line anymore with the rest of the players at Spurs and I assume that's why we're agreeing to sell him.

I love the “footballers have a short career so have to earn as much as they can” thing

A good premier league footballer earns more in a year than the average person will in a lifetime of working

"I won't say that I'm leaving Spurs right now or that I'm staying. I won't join another English club. Tottenham is my team"

Please stay Moose. The Chinese league can wait another year (or two) and you’ll still earn those big bucks there. You will still boss it there. Jesus, you would boss that league when you’re 50. Give us 12 months in the new stadium & see where you’re at then.
You know it makes sense.

The issue with Wilshere is, he is a good player who Pochettino could make world class. He's just a cunt as well.

If he hadn't have been such a twat there would be queues of clubs trying to sign him. Spurs would be one of the perfect places for him, but he'll never be excepted and would never be welcome.

To make it clear, I'm not saying I want Wilshere at Tottenham. I was stating the fact that Spurs are superb at bringing through players, and he wasted his opportunity by sticking with Woolwich and wasting his career.

I wouldnt want him anywhere near Spurs, and hope he ends up where he belongs.

We change it to what suits our opinion of the player. If its toby, he's an old money grabbing cripple. If its dembele, I wish him well & footballers have a short career.

Fuck that! No way do I want wilshire anywhere near our club.

The big difference being Toby wants to leave us to strengthen a rival, Moose doesn't. One has shown us loyalty for many years and one hasn't even managed to fulfil the years of service he originally agreed to in his first contract that he signed for us.

If Moose and Toby both leave us this season they will be rightfully remembered as one loyal servant and one very good mercenary, nothing more, nothing less.

Poch trusts Sissoko and Sissoko knows his part. He's not a given starter but he is a utility player that comes on with a set role each game, does it and doesn't complain.

Poch has also said that with our rise up the table, the youth players are going to get it harder to break into the first team. It's one thing bedding in a youth player or two in the FA Cup or Europa League group stage, but completely different once we start fighting for a top 3-4 spot and the CL.

I think all of us would like to see Oakley-Booth and Skipp break into the first team guns blazing. But if/when results start tanking we all know that those two would be first to blame as well as the manager for playing youth players instead of seasoned veterans.

Catch 22 of success

If results start tanking and Sissoko's in the team then I'll be blaming Poch. If it was Skipp or TOB in the team instead I'm a lot more likely to bite my lip.

Fwiw (to avoid any accusations) I think Poch is the best thing to ever happen to us. My (only) 3 bones of contention are: subs too late; KWP not getting a chance; use of Sissoko who is an embarrassment of a player

Touched on this in the Toby thread and got accused of being a 60 year old moaninho :dembelewtf:
