Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've seen this kid play for a full season, absolute quality, I like Dier but Godfrey is physically stronger, much faster and has a never say die attitude. Their playing style is different, Dier is a holding player that's a good passer and can spray a pass, Godfrey covers a significant amount of ground and can drive forward with the ball, think Sissoko but can pass and has purpose when he runs.
Thanks. I have caught a few Norwich games and can't say I noticed Godfrey much.
I did not think much of Aarons but Zimmerman and Lewis looked good.

Laughable, isn't it? It's the same as when some people somehow convinced themselves(and others) that Trippier was better than Walker when he left.

A coping mechanism, nothing else.

Disagree Tom, some of us were convinced Trippier was better in an attacking sense before Walker left (including Poch according to him). The metrics very much backed this up, emphatically. Kid's not had a great season though, and defensively he's not the most robust - but nowhere near as bad as some claim - isn't getting younger and is absolutely despised by the fanbase, so probably best he moves on regardless of what any of us think?

I just hope the replacement runs like Alves and thinks like Lahm, can't be hard to find eh?

He's had a few......ok give him more opportunities then.....still don't think he'll make the grade....problem is then if we're bringing more quality in the likes of himself and parret will play even less. What do we want?? We've been nearly men too long.
Don't just disagree goat. Give me your opinion. You think winks and skipp in the middle is enough to take us to the next step?....we need a mix of academy players AND established signings.......

Well, I'm exaggerating here for effect because the reality will be a blend but, no.

If they're not good enough then we improve our recruitment of youngsters into the academy until we are good enough. What we don't do, even if that means finishing 4th for 5 years in a row, is go and spend billions to try and buy success.

Given their strategy, and their unlimited wealth, maybe City aren't doing much wrong - but they are buying success rather than earning it and that might be fine for some but it isn't for me. If I lived in Manchester I'd be supporting UFCM or Salford by now.
Trouble is mate that the game wrongly or rightly has changed and we have to change with it as a club, I'm a bit in the middle with this as I want to see top players playing and winning the games biggest prizes but also adding our own academy products here and there similar to what utd used to do.
