But I’m just wondering exactly what most of them aren’t good enough for?I agree with the sentiments on these players (although hoping somehow Eriksen signs a new contract) but that doesn't mean I expect that we will sell all these players and replace them in this window, and I doubt any others do.
Never Red
Couldn’t agree moreSammy, you're absolutely right that it's all not happening. And yes, there are supporters who want each of those specific players gone. But nobody is saying they all should. Swap out 4 or 5 of the "not good enough" or "just squad players" with some quality and I don't think anyone serious would complain about the rest.
Sanchez as 3rd choice CB, Dier and Davies as guys who can cover multiple positions when injuries hit, and Winks as a rotation mid. Not a problem.
But do you think moving 4/5 of the obvious deadwood and replacing them with quality is out of the question? Every club has to have second options. For example, while not my first choice, Davies isn't a worry if he's not also lined up beside Fouth, and behind Big Vic and Skipp.
As long we're not replacing the deadwood with backups, what do you think is reasonable to expect? I know that a sincere question instead of a fight is unusual, but here we are.
Any talk of player exchanges should carry a ban. I can't even think if one we've been involved in - frazier Campbell maybe ? They don't even work on football manager.
Yeh I know but if we lose Eriksen then Isco as part of the deal would be about as like for like for Eriksen as you can get and we’d have a bit of cash left over.
Hopefully he’ll stay though.
They would be separate deals. As has been said player swaps/exchanges rarely happen.
Anyway interesting times at Real. Bale, Modric, Isco, Kroos up for sale this summer.
I'd like De Beek (Ajax) more. He looks tougher, more mature and proved himself in Europe. They are about the same age. Tielemans is just too softI want Youri Tielemans in a Spurs shirt. A position we really need to strengthen and so much potential.
And another thing...I'd like De Beek (Ajax) more. He looks tougher, more mature and proved himself in Europe. They are about the same age. Tielemans is just too soft
Can't wait for all the excuses as to why we haven't signed anyone once the season ends and the summer begins
-Season just ended
-Levy and Poch on holiday
-Have to wait until internationals are out the way
-transfer fees too high
-players on holiday
-cant sign anyone officially until July 1st
-have to wait for bigger clubs to do their business before we can enter the market
-Brexit
-unwanted players must be sold first to make way for new signings
-players are cheaper at the end of the window
-we can save on wages by delaying signing anyone until the later stages of the summer
What fun
For me they aren't good enough for a team challenging or wanting to mount a serious challenge for the PL title. Liverpool stepped it up to City's level. We must as well. But I’m just wondering exactly what most of them aren’t good enough for?
What if we get to CL final? What if we win it?
Is the back up still shit?
Personally I think the back up have been by and large ridiculously reliable.
What’s let us down has been the “star players” crapness, the age old problem of wasting chances in the final third, managerial/tactical errors, mentality and injuries.
Changes need to be made.....but not because the squad is shit.
Fingers crossedGrealish seems to have developed some drive and character in the last year. Poch can improve some aspects of his game. At the right price he is worth considering if other deals fail to materialise
However I think Villa will win the play offs and he won't move anywhere this summer

In a knockout tournament, anything can happen really.
I think what has let us down is a mix of things, like you stated, but one of them is certainly "backup/squad" players not being good enough and some starters that aren't as well. Take Trips as an example.
