Pretty sure that's a ban for TomoYeh I know but if we lose Eriksen then Isco as part of the deal would be about as like for like for Eriksen as you can get and we’d have a bit of cash left over.
Hopefully he’ll stay though.

The classic 'No business will be done until Levy is back from holiday' line. Can't wait for all the excuses as to why we haven't signed anyone once the season ends and the summer begins
-Season just ended
-Levy and Poch on holiday
-Have to wait until internationals are out the way
-transfer fees too high
-players on holiday
-cant sign anyone officially until July 1st
-have to wait for bigger clubs to do their business before we can enter the market
-Brexit
-unwanted players must be sold first to make way for new signings
-players are cheaper at the end of the window
-we can save on wages by delaying signing anyone until the later stages of the summer
What fun

bang on.But I’m just wondering exactly what most of them aren’t good enough for?
What if we get to CL final? What if we win it?
Is the back up still shit?
Personally I think the back up have been by and large ridiculously reliable.
What’s let us down has been the “star players” crapness, the age old problem of wasting chances in the final third, managerial/tactical errors, mentality and injuries.
Changes need to be made.....but not because the squad is shit.
Well I’ve had this discussion before and apparently Lallana, Origi and Sturridge are all as good as Salah....I mean “look at our rivals bench”. It’s only Spurs who don’t have an equal to their first choice on the bench right...?Where would lolpool be now if they'd lost Mane and Salah for the 23 games we've been without Dele and Kane, and what if Firmino had disappeared for two major tournament mid-season. What if VVD had been missing for 15 games like Jan?
Bissaka at Right Back and Sessegnon at Left Back and we are sorted for 10 years.Having suffered the Dippers excellent play this season, I'm of the mind that fullbacks remain key to our play. With Walker and Rose on song, we used to bomb forward and press like monsters. Roberston gives Liverpool that down the left.
We need that again. It would take some of the pressure off our midfield to boot. Not sure who we can get to do that - perhaps that's what they're hoping Sessegnon will provide, with Attal on the right.
Right now thats the case......but the same people said the same things about the same players when we were finishing above City and Liverpool just a couple seasons ago.
The it was ONE marquee signing. Now we need half a squad.
The bar is always raised......do people seriously expect us to outspend City? We just had a season like this, with the back up playing most of it.
You think Chelsea would be 3rd in the same situation.....or Liverpool with Sturride and Origi instead of Salah
I want to throw in a name for the right back position. Stefan Lainer.
26 year old right back at Salzburg (turns 27 in August so just starting to hit his peak years). Really impressed with him in the Europa. Just the right mix of offensive and defensive for a right back.
The squad needs reinvigoration. It's run its course.
We need those who have always got picked to be unsure of a starting place, we need a return to a football philosophy that all the players understand and I believe we need a return to a first 11.
We may just about have got away with it this season because United have completely flattered to deceive but even Woolwich for all their defensive frailty have shown they may get better next season and if they win the Europa it will give them a big boost.
Add to that the real threat of 3 or 4 other teams from the mid-table pack and I think anything other than a net 4 or 5 players in would be a worry.
We will soon start the long journey of transfer hope.
the pair of them have had reasonable 12 months of form. Suggesting they're ready made to dominate the fullback positions for the next 10 years is one hell of a statement.Bissaka at Right Back and Sessegnon at Left Back and we are sorted for 10 years.
lots of clubs with plenty to play for still and I expect will not want to rock the boat by announcing signings/departuresThought that clubs could sign players at any time of the year, but they couldn't register them outside of the transfer windows? Thus, the whole "window hasn't opened yet" thing is a bullshit excuse imo.
You make some sound points - and no, of course, we will never ever in a billion years come close to City's spending. I don't think anyone seriously expects that.
What I think people do expect, however, is a big investment in the squad this summer. No signings for two windows + the Dembele money + the extra CL money + the money from player sales should be used to back Poch.. and I think his statements suggest he wants investment in the squad as well.
Our current starting 11 is good enough to challenge (maybe minus Trips), but we've been very unfortunate with injuries this season. Our backups have not done well enough (and I'm not talking about Llorente. To me he has done very well for a backup striker)
Granted, but we have the full back whisperer as manager who just needs the raw ability to be there to start with. Trippier and Davies lack the pace needed and Aurier is a mentalist. Let Danny continue and rotate as Sess is still very raw, I think Wan-Bissaka is ready to go.the pair of them have had reasonable 12 months of form. Suggesting they're ready made to dominate the fullback positions for the next 10 years is one hell of a statement.
bang on.
the blanket argument that we lack quality in depth is a lazy one thrown out by Sky "experts".
they didn't strengthen = must lack depth
not competing with city/lolpool = must lack depth
totally lacks context.
in reality, you look at our injuries this season, our position in the league, and CL semi, and this offers more support to the notion that our depth is actually very good than it does otherwise. Where would lolpool be now if they'd lost Mane and Salah for the 23 games we've been without Dele and Kane, and what if Firmino had disappeared for two major tournament mid-season. What if VVD had been missing for 15 games like Jan? Does anyone actually expect that even with those injuries we should have been up there with city and lolpool? no fucking way. 4th and a CL semi (minimum ffs, could get even better!), is proof our depth is good.
Does this mean we couldn't have strengthen, or that we wouldn't have benefited from that? no of course not. We all want to improve the squad, just lets not lose our fucking minds.

Alderweirald for Matic ...Any talk of player exchanges should carry a ban. I can't even think if one we've been involved in - frazier Campbell maybe ? They don't even work on football manager.
