Yeah, but with Lo Celso, I can't see a need for VDB especially if Eriksen stays.
My argument is more from a cost standpoind.

Who do you guys think will be the first signing?
Thinking Sessegnon will be done first.
But then again we are not sponsored by the Spanish government, Abu Dhabi royal family or the Qataris.Real Madrid has shown interest for a year, but knew they couldn’t get him last season. So they have waited patiently as they did Jovic and have acquired their targets. Big clubs don’t fuck around like Spurs. When they want someone, they go all out to get them and 9 times out of 10, they get that player. We dither and fuck around all window making silly 35 mil bids for a player that is worth 60, then wonder why the clubs get pissed off and refuse to deal with us. Transfers are never cut and dry with Spurs.

Calm y’tits, long way to go yet.Fuck me. My hopes that we might sign someone immediately following the CL have been dashed.
If we end up only signing Sessegnon it will be a shocking window. Yes, even if Eriksen and Toby stay that will be highly disappointing.
The difference is, none of those teams voluntarily imposed 2 transfer window ban on themselves.ManU couldn’t even get a deal done for Alderweireld last summer or any of Mourinho’s targets apparently.
And ManC took two windows to get Mahrez, failed to get Sanchez and Fred, failed with a 50m bid for NDombele last summer, and failed to get De Jong.
Real Madrid have taken about 3 years to get Hazard (age 28), still haven’t managed to sign either Pogba (or Eriksen.).
Barcelona thought they had DeLigt in the bag, turns out not.
Everybody’s doing the same circle jerk.

LOL
Odds have absolutely nothing to do with how imminent a signing is.
The market is so small all it takes is some dickhead putting a decent size bet on and odds can swing hugely.
Not even worth looking at.

conformation bias there - you are only looking at the ones where the transfer happens - I am sure the same behaviors happen for those links that do not happen and there is no way to distinguish between the two prior to the transfer. Pick a player - bet £50-£100 and see the odds move. It's the information that leaks out that determines the odds, and people close to the deal putting sizeable chunks on affect them too. They've generally been accurate when I've followed them in previous windows. The first indication Grealish wasn't going to happen was when the odds suddenly drifted.
Ya but apparently Sanchez is shit at 22.
CBs tend to come of age slower and also play longer than other positions, but people want to kick them to the curb if they haven't reached their level.
To your point, if you told me VVD would be one of the top CBs in the world in 2016 I'd ask you to pass the crack you were smoking. Took him until 26 to really reach his potential.
He was popular last year, newer names more popular this year
