Reports suggesting Poch has had a phone call with Lo Celso to explain the delay are a strange read.

Are managers allowed to contact a player directly?

Also, if they are true, it seems the club are expecting Eriksen to leave.

Somehow I like Aulas lol
He's a bit of a twat, but does his job well considering that Lyon really is up against the wall when it comes to selling their best players to foreign clubs. A lot of us commend Levy for driving a hard bargain, especially given that it gives the perception to the mega clubs that our crown jewels cannot be easily prized away.

Plus, the amount of info he gives to the press means we basically know what's going on without any football media speculation bollocks. Can imagine that Levy would rather he kept schtum until the deal was done though.

I'd love to see the two of them in a room together.

To me, that story sounded like pure fantasy. How the fuck would they possibly get that information?

Bids made/accepted/rejected, sure - but private phone calls?
:pochcmon:

I've got hot insider knowledge on Levy's response:

Oh, I mean - what must have been key at the time was whether AVB had a problem with it (clearly he didn't and was happy to accommodate Bale as he was so clearly our best player). As long as it wasn't causing a revolt in the dressing room I'm sure Defoe let it roll over him.

Reckon in hinsight that could well have been the start of the rot in the dressing room; in turn signalling to the likes of Adebayor, Kaboul, Lennon & BAE that it was party time.
