Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

In the last 3-4 years yes by and large

We’ve wasted millions on cheap turds and again been embarrassed this window by lack of ambition looking to start the season with Winks and Hojberg
Well you can always go and follow them if this club isn’t lavish enough for you.
No matter what I think of our players, the way you talk about them in relation to your Chelsea deep throating is an utter embarrassment

Let’s see. Not getting champions league next season was a blow. No doubt about it.

It is one reason why I’d sell Ndombele. He’s not going to play so if we could get even £30m for him I’d sell.
But surely a club like ours that wins fuck all, or doesn't regularly qualify for the CL as we have only been in it a few times, should not be in a position of reliance when in fact it's a bonus to a club like ours.

At their best?

in what world are they close to at their best?

Chelsea just came off a transfer ban and a season of playing a ton of their youth. They are moving forward having made some great additions to their squad and having those same young players continuing to improve. Not a chance that last year was anywhere close to their best.

United also played some young players and had a weak (for them) squad that they strengthened by adding Fernandes mid-season.

With them having a full season of Fernandes, Greenwood getting better and potentially adding Henderson and Sancho I doubt that last year was anything close to their best.

Awwww look at the Chelsea and Utd wank fest

How sweet

And here’s the usual ENIC come back - go and follow ‘x’ then.. Yawn

Errr.. - how about the owners go and fuck themsleves in their greedy thieving cunts and put the club and its history of cup trophies ahead of massive profits

if we had a stud LB playing ahead of him that was a clear cut PL starter and a guy you can rely on week after week I think I would be more comfortable having a youth player as the back-up, but having Ben Davies as the #1 option begging week after week to be replaced by an actual player with quality knowing that the only other option is a guy who has shown absolutely nothing that he could play in the PL is a little concerning.

Or if we had a 3rd FB that was able to play LB/RB as an option to shift over if Cirkin is overwhelmed like many 18 year olds are, then that would be at least some back up.

But knowing that we are a knee twist or red card away from Cirkin being our starting LB for multiple games at the PL level should be a concern for every fan.

I won't let age concern me, if he's good enough he's old enough as they say and he hasn't done anything to make us think he's not yet.

If Davies is good enough for a starting LB is another issue though and in a perfect world I would upgrade him. But we have another 6 or so bigger issues to sort out first in the squad

Eriksen was still on the team when we made those signings so not sure why his replacement was a priority. But even if that was the case we still had no DM options. So that was a major miss not adding anyone who could play that role.

It isn't only a problem when Kane isn't fit because as we have seen overplaying him is a reason why he has struggled to stay fit and had to come back too early. We also have struggled to score goals in lesser competitions when not playing him.

If Davies was a Wan-Bissaka level defensive FB I could see passing him off as us only having one FB attacking and the other hanging back but Davies is not good defensively. The only reason he gets talked about being able to do that role is because he is better defensively than he is going forward, but he is still a poor defensive FB compared to other guys out there. If we replaced him with one of the many rumoured LBs available we would get an upgrade in terms of going forward and defensively. Also, even if Jose wants to play an unbalanced FB attack I can't see why he would prefer to have a FB that is basically useless going forward. There are going to be times when you need both FB's capable of playing attacking football.
Eriksen needed replacing that was clear as day.

I get it davies is no world beater but he has decent pedigree and a premier league level full back.

Just think we have more pressing priorities.

And in all honesty I haven't got a clue which area Jose wants to strengthen but he has praised davies a few times which suggests he's happy with him

It’s funny you say I support Levy (Tottenham) over the club (Tottenham) while you sit here calling Tottenham players Shitcunts and turds with your tongue up Chelsea’s anus

I am making an argument
The same one you made. The exact same argument.

Maguire is better than Sanchez right?
But......For How Long??????
:goonermong:

I would say likely the next 5 years, maybe their whole careers.

Both players seem to be basically what they are, it is unlikely either one improves significantly. I guess once Harry starts to get into his mid 30's we will likely see a drop off so that's why I would say the 5 year time frame would be the time to start really looking at it.

i didn't make the same argument. I made an argument based on reality, you are making an argument based on crying that people aren't overrating every Spurs players and actually looking at things rationally.
