Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I would say likely the next 5 years, maybe their whole careers.

Both players seem to be basically what they are, it is unlikely either one improves significantly. I guess once Harry starts to get into his mid 30's we will likely see a drop off so that's why I would say the 5 year time frame would be the time to start really looking at it.

i didn't make the same argument. I made an argument based on reality, you are making an argument based on crying that people aren't overrating every Spurs players and actually looking at things rationally.
Maguire is shit though.
Toby retiring doesn’t make Maguire better than him

But surely a club like ours that wins fuck all, or doesn't regularly qualify for the CL as we have only been in it a few times, should not be in a position of reliance when in fact it's a bonus to a club like ours.

I thought we took out the £170m loan so we could behave as normal. Maybe we would of if we had got CL next season. But there’s no doubt a lack of match day income has hurt us. It’s been gone over a hundred times before though hasn’t it.

I won't let age concern me, if he's good enough he's old enough as they say and he hasn't done anything to make us think he's not yet.

If Davies is good enough for a starting LB is another issue though and in a perfect world I would upgrade him. But we have another 6 or so bigger issues to sort out first in the squad

Its not just age but experience as well.

But i would ask how can you not let age concern you? It is rare that an 18 year old is ready to play in the PL. To ignore that just because seems crazy.

I would say him playing zero games at this level would show me that he has shown he is not ready, the fact he has not dominated at lower levels has shown that he is not ready, the fact he has been ok at best in the limited games he has played for us has shown he is not ready.

Are you delerious? Am I making it up that you are bigging them up?

Yes you are making that up.

I am talking rationally about what they are. That isn't close to a "wankfest."

Are you really that pathetic that you can't handle people talking about other clubs in a rationale way?

Are you so insecure about your own club that you need to create false narratives about other clubs to make your pathetic little ego feel better?

Eriksen needed replacing that was clear as day.

I get it davies is no world beater but he has decent pedigree and a premier league level full back.

Just think we have more pressing priorities.

And in all honesty I haven't got a clue which area Jose wants to strengthen but he has praised davies a few times which suggests he's happy with him

Eriksen needing replacing when we sold him, if we had sold him like we should have that summer then I agree, but instead we kept him meaning we had too many players for the same position and nobody to play the DM role on the team.

Davies is not a PL level player, or at least not a top 10 level player, maybe for a promoted Club or relegation team he would be fine but for a team with supposed ambition he is not nearly good enough.

Again, you're acting like he'll be #1..... He won't.

Davies + Sess (epl exp.)/Cirkin
NEW + Gedson/Tanganga (epl exp.)

Not talking enough about Davies.

Tbh I think he is worse than when we bought him, if anything.

Why? Injury`?

But aren't we behaving as normal still, finding cheap punts or "value in the market" has never stopped.
🤔

Eriksen was running around avoiding tackles. He stayed because he was waiting for something to happen that never did.

He played because the team wasn't clicking and we had been playing through him as our most creative outlet under poch for years.

Davies is a premier league level player he has played a lot of football for us and Wales at the highest level

No I am not, in fact I said the exact opposite. I have never said or acted like he would be the #1 at all.

My concern is that he will be the #2 (as I have said in this thread). My concern is he will be the first choice RB for the EL/Cup games and I think he would be better off as a starting CB in those games.

If Gedson is the starting RB for the EL/Cup games that is shit for us, but better in that it is his development getting ruined rather than Tanganga and since Gedson has zero future for us I don't care about screwing up his development. Still a poor option at RB though.

I think he looks worse because he is being asked to do more and the team around him is worse. When Rose was here to play in the bigger games that made things a lot easier for Davies. When Jan and Toby were on they could cover for him and mask all his problems.

Now that we don't have a team that can cover for him he is left out for all to see how poor he really is.

I'm not disagreeing that Eriksen should have been gone. He should have been sold that summer and GLC put right into the squad from the start of the year.

Watching him in the 2nd half of the previous season mope around because he wasn't going to get the big move was disgusting to watch and it is sad that he was still forced out there because he was our only shot at creativity that we had on the team.

If Jose thinks he (or Cirkin) is ready for B-games then I'll take his judgement over yours....

Imagine TAA if Liverpool had your attitude.

.......You know, the same Liverpool that had no specialist FB cover for the last 2 years.

......An 18 y/o RB and a relegated LB...."Unacceptable lack of ambition".

Appealing to authority, especially when we don't know if Jose even wants him as the primary back-up or just knows that there is no other option is a very weak argument.

Comparing it to TAA, who Cirkin has shown zero similarities to, is weak as well.

Liverpool who just added a FB cover despite having much better FB's than we do. Also the same Liverpool that had Milner who had shown his ability to play FB for them in big games.

If your best arguments are the Jose might rate the player (with zero evidence of this) and TAA did it, it shows how weak your argument is. Nothing about what Cirkin has actually shown in his play, nothing about the actual player just hopes and wishes based on another player with nothing similar other than age and the hopes that a manager might like a guy and might be right.
