YOU said he was "clearly past it".

I didn't say he wasn't OK.... Just that we didn't do him any favours by playing him so little.

He was past it when he came to us, he was at one stage an elite player - World Cup winner. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t useful at times. No contradiction there. I thought Nando was alright.

He was always going to have a few mins here and there when you have Kane at the club and play with one recognised striker...

Kurt zouma f me guys wank. slimani the same slimani which flopped at Leicester. glad to see our targets are game changers.
I watched a fair deal of Monaco during the current/previous season and Slimani was great for them. 9 goals and 7 assists and part of a great duo with Ben Yedder.

I assume that the plan would be to utilize him similarly. As a big target man used to soak up pressure from the backline and set up goals rather than score a plenty.

What's his goal record got to do with anything?

He's actually won something outside of Spurs - though is that really hard?

He won a trophy in Mexico. What a legend.

That’s a very loose use of the word ‘success’. I guess someone winning a trophy in Luxembourg can consider themselves more successful as a footballer than Harry Kane.

I thought he was worth a punt when we signed him, but since then he’s lost his place in the national team, and has a dismal scoring record in the mighty Mexican league. A real success story that one.

When was the word legend used?

He left Spurs, joined a new club, scored 11 goals in 14 starts and won a trophy.

Fair play to him. Won't be the first player to leave Tottenham and turn out happier, won't be the last.
