Bergwijn wasn’t Jose’s first choice but the fact he thanked the club for convincing him and called it a great signing would suggest a level of dialogue took place.

Seems pretty obvious to me. In the CL they have to compete with the other teams who also spend billions on players. Sure, you get the Cinderella stories like us, Ajax and OL who squeak through, but it’s big money clubs winning year after year.

The money virtually guarantees them a shot at it, and once they get there they’ve messed it up. I don’t know why this matters to us on a Spurs forum, but here we are.
