Where do you get your news?

How much did Levy want for Eriksen last summer?

I don't know, I've never claimed to know. But by January he was prepared to accept 17m, hardly suggests he was holding out for 130m last summer does it. Barry Glendenning works for the Guardian, do you hold much store by what he says ?

The same type of papers/journalists were claiming Levy was prepared to accept 40m in January - when he actually took 17m - less than half.

Does Hytner knowing Levy had priced Eriksen out of a move really sound plausible? Who would know this. Which chairman that tried to buy Eriksen and then told Hytner Levy wouldn't take less than 130m?

Wasn't the real problem that the clubs that would have paid decent money for Eriksen (say 70-80m), were clubs that Eriksen didn't want to go to (like ManU ?) then eventually when it became clear to Eriksen he wasn't getting a move to one of his preferred clubs he accepted going to Inter and Levy did it for peasants (less than we've just paid for Hojbjerg)?

I gave you a link to the former Times journalist and highly respected football broadcaster Gabriel Marcotti saying that Mitchell fell out with Poch, did you take that as the gospel truth ?

We all read shit and weigh it up and tend to lean on the side that suits our own "agenda", you and Rumsfeld are no different or less slippery than any of us in this respect. You've had a bug up your arse about Levy as long as I have known you, and seem to be vexed that I don't think every single thing he does is bad.

The problem with Levy is that he's a very good negotiator......for 2003.

Compared to the #PayTheMan merchants round these parts who would have casually spent north of 50m combined more on GLC & TN last summer than we eventually paid....?

Or how about KWP + 3m for PEH; whom was originally mooted as having an asking price of 35m?

Lloris was an absolute steal.....

Sure there are others.... All of which are post-2003.

You take the rough with the smooth, but he gets what he wants much of the time.

Seriously - this is forum cancer basically - you make Goebbels look amateur

This shit. This shit right here is the kind of Levy story that drives me bananas. The only defence I'd have for it is that he knew Real were desperate for him with endless resources (though the price he went for was still rather unimpressive) - it might have benefitted Spurs in the Bale sale as RM will have had PTSD from Modric.

I *think* he's cut this kind of shit out. Hopefully.

Earlier in that article series by Modric he admits to going behind Spurs back to negotiate with Chelsea before Chelsea had approached us for it. Levy found out from the media and that was a big factor in him refusing to as much as look at Chelsea's offer.

So him being difficult with Madrid in the Modric deal could just as well being him giving it back to Luka and his associates.

Good age but are we likely to get him.
I'd like to think we are after another cm, im happy to give PEH chance to prove himself but we can't rely on him going uninjured all year, 1 lengthy injury and we're back to last season again, I imagine Mourinho is smart enough to realise this.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's something we revisit after the other pressing positions are addressed.

I doubt that those that you mention, like Winks/Sissoko/Lucas will leave. They won't, they either homegrown which is useful at the moment or they signed a new contract lately and that's it + Mourinho likes them. Same with Sanchez, i doubt that Lamela will leave too, tbh.

Possible outgoings non-hg: Aurier, Foyth, 50/50 Gazzaniga, Lamela, Ndombele so max 5 non-hg players in and it won't even be like that.

Just stop with that shit: "Sissoko will leave" he wont and its fine.
