Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This analysis would suggest that playing with 3 at the back could become an option for us. Both Gedson and Sessegnon playing flying full backs would be something I would love to see again in our cup games/ easy EL games tbh.

Not having a pop at you Stanley, I know you just posted for interest purposes, but it's hard to take a piece of analysis like that seriously when it picks out Hojbjerg hiding behind an opposing player when our CB's have the ball and calling it some kind of "genius" it's that kind of shit that's got us in the mess we are in now. And even more dubious was suggesting Gedson was some kind of revelation at RB - and was showing more than Aurier ever does? We were playing Ipswich reserves for the first half, Gedson had no defending to do, and every time he had to take a touch under pressure it pinged off him like his shins were spring loaded with Deli Alli's shin pads.

We didn't play a back 3. Sess played as a LW (Sonny's position). Gedson played in Aurier's position - offensive RB.

I really don't understand why people are saying this. If we played a back 3 yesterday, we've been playing a back 3 since Jose arrived.

And Stanley Stanley , I think it was just referring to the way Mourinho rarely pushes both FB's up high at the same time, not that we are going to switch to an orthodox 3CB system with two WB's any time soon.

is it April fools day? He’s not going to Woolwich ffs. I’m sure they’d love to sign him but no way is he going to go there.

He will go to whoever pays the transfer fee and pays his high wage demands. Maybe he likes the idea of living in London as well as being managed by a fellow Spaniard. Who knows but I wouldn't be surprised if he went there. He is a good player but come on it's not like he is young and one of the best in the world. 29 years old. Woolwich don't seem too bothered about paying aging players exorbitant wages, he would just be another on the list

He's a elegant, technically masterful player who is constantly injured and will be on unjustifiably large wages in the decline phase of his career.

He's got Woolwich written all over him.

Who's gonna hit the 1,000th page of the thread then?

Can’t believe the dippers are stalling on Thiago for what is essentially chicken feed.

25-30m for someone of his quality could be the piece that makes them defend their title. Hope they do stall for a while and it falls through.

Hercules at it again on SC. No big-money signings. Club want to sell Ndombele and he wants out. Targets in media close to truth. Nostradamus strikes again.

Hercules talks utter shite. If he’s connected to the club, then I’m the pope’s brother. Don’t get me wrong, I believe Levy won’t be making any significant signings, but that’s based on history and knowing the way the club operates. Don’t listen to an ounce of info that comes out of that cunt Hercules mouth. Lying rat faced wanker.

There isn’t gonna be any big profit this year. To think that is nuts.

Every club in the league is going to take a big loss this year, just like basically every business in the world. Possibly us less so than others, but with debt service payments designed to be offset by our massive matchday income, maybe not.

And the matchday income isn't coming back in the short term, and has some questions in the medium term.

But at the end of the day, Tottenham Hotspur is in the business of selling appealing football to ticket buyers and commercial sponsors, and that marketplace remains competitive even with everyone's financial footing being suddenly wobbly.

Access to financing is as cheap as it's ever been, so while due care must be given to how additional debt service burden would impact the club long term, failure to invest and sacrificing the club's competitive position over the long term is probably the greater risk.
