Those 16 appearances were mostly very short cameos, and never allowed him to get going.

I have always said that we should NOT buy a back-up for Kane. Strikers can not sit 90% of the time on the bench and be expected to deliver when they get 10 minutes here and there, four league cup games and a run of three games when the first choice striker is out. There is barely a player alive that will perform to the level necessary to fill in reasonably well if he isn't getting regular game time.

That is what happened to Sørloth at Palace. That is why it took him time to rebuild.

Then he became top scorer in Turkey for Trabzonspor, scoring 24 non-penalty goals and getting 8 assists in 34 appearances. All while being big and strong and fairly fast, posing a kind of threat and workload for the opponents that we may be said to lack at the moment (not for the kind of football that I would like us to play, but for the kind of football that Mourinho wants).

Harry Kane had 15 appearances, 585 minutes with 2 goals for Leicester. They thought he was shit.
Alexander Sørloth had 16 appearances, 533 with 0 goals for Crystal Palace. Unlucky not to score against us. They think him are shit. Confidence shot. Goes on and does incredible in Turkey (albeit a shit league, still not that less shit than the Austrian League where Haaland were banging in goals).
We desperatly need a striker to play in Europa and the cups. To be honest, I'll take back in Jansen in a second.

What about 5 goals in 40+ in Holland.

He has been shit for 4 years but lets just take him based on 1 good one. Thats what we did with Jansen
 
We all slate the idea of Sorloth, but Leipzig are also keen. The same Leipzig who gave us a lesson in the Champions League, who have top players.

If he signs for Leipzig and bags another 30 goals the same people moaning now will be moaning how Levy let him go too easy.

4 shit seasons & 1 good season

Could he be a success? Perhaps. But he'd be a huge risk

Fair enough. Maybe I am just sick to death of being in this situation every transfer window with that bald idiot not putting his hand in his pocket and always scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to save a few pennies. Never trying to improve the team he just plugs a few holes and hopes for the best.
