Up until gameweek 20 last season; we had the 2nd best defensive record in the league. But sure, our defence is terrible right?
By gameweek 30 we dropped to 4th best; and by end of season 6th.
Our decline in form affected the whole team. Harry and Son's goals dried up and our form plummeted. Teams quickly figured out that we weren't able to transition play through midfield. So they simply marked Kane and Son out of the game and packed midfield; leaving us to playing long ball bingo.
Sure, we would all like a lot of players gone; but in this current Covid market; nobody is buying players; everybody wants loans.
Quite simply any new coach would have been told that they need to make do with the majority of the current squad.
Rodon, Skipp, Sess, Lo Celso (if fit) will bring some fresh energy to the squad.
PEH is a beast who is getting better; and with Skipp will have opportunity for rotation.
I am sure that any new coach would have been asked how they would get the best out of Ndombele.
Dele Alli looks in his best shape ever and motivated.
Doherty was excellent under Nuno at Wolves.
If fit, Lamela will be like a new signing.

You realise this fabled Xg that everyone goes on about works for goals conceded too, right? We were scoring more than we should, and conceding less than we should in those 20 games.
You only need to watch the games to see how often the likes of Dier, Dave, Davis et all were making a fucking hash of defending but somehow the opposition didn't score.
