The only players I'd want to keep for next season are

Lloris , Reguilon , Rodon , Tanganga , Hojbjerg , Ndombele , Lo Celso , Son , Bergwijn and Kane

And all the loan players we have

Everyone else I don't care about. Obviously the likes of Davies are good back up but anyone else in our squad I'd be glad to see the back of.

At last someone who prices up their overhauls. I think you are being very optimistic on the values we can achieve for our deadwood. January was a taste of what is to come in the Summer. No market for anything except top level talent.

But assume that you are right on the values,

No CL, quite possibly no EL, doubtful if stadiums full for start of new season. Spectre of new variant of the virus/winter spike shutting it all down again.

What do you think the chances are of DL authorising a £60m net spend? Almost zero I would say.

A more realistic view would be, assume there are no buyers for our dross or only at nominal fees of around £5m. Assume DL will insist on a net neutral spend. Now see what squad you can come up with. I'm not being argumentative, i like the look of your plan. I just genuinely believe that the situation I have described is going to be what we are faced with.

What have any of the loan players done for you to want to keep them?

You're right. I was just trying to be optimistic after that sad defeat.
 
I’d be tempted to spend a whack of whatever budget we have on recruiting a scouting team that’s a lot better than we presently have. What we have right now obviously isn’t up to the task.

Too many players come in that are unsuitable for what we want, be it physical prowess, injury records or mental strength.

Might mean a player less coming in this summer, but will reap longer term benefits.

Under Poch we had Hitchin and no DoF.

Poch goes and we get a DoF

DoF leaves for a "better" job

We are left with Hitchin, who gets a shiny new job title.

Like your optimism but there is now way we move on 12 players and bring in 9 (10 if you include Skipp).
 
If Kane leaves an increasingly I think we are facing that reality. Then we can look to directly replace his goals but as we can't afford Haland we will have to add goals at number ten and wide forward. I say we go all out for Neto Sarr and Ings. These in rotation with Son under a progressive coach at least we will enjoy the football again.

None of them are comparable to Kane. Would be a really sad day.

Pretty sure I already said this to you BUT

Lamela and Sissoko would generate more than £10m and if Levy gets £10m for the 2 that's a crap deal.
