Players who will/may leave :
Lloris - one year left on contract. We either get a fee now or none in 12 months time if he will not sign a one year extension.
Gazanigga - Not good enough, a small fee hopefully
Rose - End of Contract.
Foyth - 23 year old not good enough per Poch and JM in any position. Contract until 2022. Hopefully a fee
Doherty - Unless something changes he's not lived up to his Wolves form, and just poor
Aurier - one year left on contract and a bad mistake every few matches. Can we afford 2 RB's, probably not. Can we find a youngster to step up, ?
Sanchez - Aged 24 but always a mistake in him in PL. Move on as potential for big fee.
(Not able to afford a 2nd CB so keep Dier)
Sissoko - Not good enough, does not contribute enough to defence or attack, a reason why our central midfield is not as effective as it should be.
Lamela - One year left on contract and injured/not available for 70% of matches over last 7 years, so time for a change. Cannot afford 2 AM's do keep for one more year
And loan for striker Vinicius comes to an end, not worth paying the release fee.
I'd keep Winks as my 6th CM but lots of rumours he wants to go to Spain where his skills are more suited.
In :
1 GK - probably. All depends on Lloris
2 CB - Want a top CB to replace Sanchez, not easy to find. But we still have Alderweireld, Dier, Rodon, Tanganga, (unless Tanganga is RB) and possibly Davies if Sessegnon is back up LB
3 RB - Aurier replacement, plus Tanganga as back up. Outside chance of Lavinier and/or Eyoma as back up
4 CM - A good CM to replace Sissoko to add something to both defence and attack, Sabitzer is ideal. Add Skipp and we are good to go in CM .....provided Lo Celso stays healthy
5 AM - Replacement for Lamela. I think Bale still more than likely to leave, leaving Son, Bergwijn, Moura + new AM for 4 positions
6 Striker back up. Gulp
6 players in is at the upper end of my expectations of what is possible taking into account finances to buy players and the difficulties in off loading the players above who maybe on higher wages than their new clubs will pay (= Spurs subsidise wages, low fees received).
Especially as imo we are better off buying quality players (even if special situations where they are cheap) as we already have good numbers in the squad so the strategy has to be to upgrade the quality of players we have,
