I'd have none to be honest. I like his effort and he has natural ability, but the squad needs a purge and he's the right age to make a decent fee. Not a player you can really plan much around as his standout quality is just instinctive blind alley runs 3/4 times per game. Doubt his usefulness especially if we bring in a coach valuing possession.
Fair enough mate, I think any manager that comes in will see his workrate and see how good he is behind the striker and use him, his fast direct running in the central position is something hardly any team can deal with

I hope that the Ivan Toney thing comes off. He is not just a good finisher, he is very creative in his movement and passing. He could give Kane a break in some games but the two of them would be a great combination, so it is not just a back up option.

Makes me sad how other clubs like Chelsea/City being linked with top qualities when their squads are already great.

Even Woolwich have strong links with multiple decent players

Meanwhile apart from Andersen no other links are real and I just worry we are forgetting about our recruitment.

Andersen

Could I have your opinion on him Five Five

I'm not sure on him .
Did you see Burnley's first goal the other night? His lack of mobility summed up in one passage of play. Other than that, there are plenty of positives. His long-range passing can be outstanding. He is physically strong, seems to read the game well and is a talker. Don't know if I am being harsh in saying this, but when I watched him, I thought he had a bad habit of going to ground and getting it badly wrong.

Most of those on here who want this guy are basing it on Fulham's game against us when he was like Toby on steroids with the long passes.
I have watched bits of Fulham games since and he has not impressed me in the way Maguire impressed me when he played for Hull.

Exactly what I thought re-Burnley game

Was not impressed at all by how easily Vydra got buy him.

I feel like he's a good passer (or at least can be) but his actual defending -> Which is probably most important isn't at the highest level.

He's a leader though and if its really only 20 million euros I'd do it.

I'd probably be looking at another CB too though , preferably Left-footed.

£20 million for him or £30million for Schuurs.

21, CL experience, called up into the Dutch squad, basically De Ligt light. Ragdolled Mane like none of our current defence could.

He would be an ok signing, not a transformative CB or someone who should be our CB1, but if the 20m rumours are true he would be fine and certainly an upgrade over what we have now outside of Toby.

We should be looking for better but if we are being realistic he is likely a good option for what we are likely to get.

I'd be happy if he was 1 or 2

But he's not that marquee CB.

The marquee CB can even be someone young. You don't need to be old to be transformative.

I think it's generally a mistake to form a judgement on a player/manager/team on the basis of how they perform against us, because we are capable of making anyone look amazing. And I mean anyone.

Apart from his long-range passing (when he has time and space), there is nothing about him that gets me going. That being said, we could probably pick holes in most of the CBs at all the top PL clubs. And plenty of them don't have very good mobility. The trouble for me is that I quite honestly don't know who we should be chasing. All I know is that the links to Vestergaard, Andersen, etc are either underwhelming or downright depressing.
