Sanches is nowhere near as bad as Sissoko, is much less ball phobic and way more technically competent and available (but then who isn't) but there is definitely something reminiscent in the way he tries to dribble, takes a bad touch but still manages to rhino his way through the dribble - he did this a couple of times for Portugal at the Euro's and pundits and punters on here were making the same noises they made when Sissoko did it at the last Euro's 5 years ago and fooled Poch/Levy (delete as preferred) into spunking 30m up the wall. They also made similar noises at that same Euros about Sanches and Bayern ended up spunking 31m up the wall on him (only getting 18m back from Lille).

I don't hate Sanches, he's learnt to calm himself down in the last 2/3 years, he's got some ability in his boots, is more press resistant than the likes of Sissoko and Winks, but even at Lille this season he wasn't always trusted to play in CM in his 1200 minutes (out of 3400 possible). His decision making can still be a bit wonky at times IMO, and without the ball he can definitely go to sleep or get bamboozled and doesn’t really do enough without the ball for a CM2 IMO.

Don't hate but not convinced.
He was hurt jackass. Stop pushing your shitty narratives that are so easily cast aside. He was hurt and missed 14 games this season (through multiple scattered months) and the team was on a roll otherwise. It's not about "trust" as is the third time you pushed this bullshit but I didn't push back...as it's usually not worth it (see poch/sissoko link earlier) because you will persist. But at least everyone else will know you're talking shit.

And you'll never be 'convinced' because then you'd have to admit somehting your ego will hate...something you should have come to grips with already. :pochsmirk:

Tell us how many games you've watched of him this season BC. RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK has the horn for him and has watched many a Lille game. Are you saying Five is a numbskull? Hey Five, BC's calling you names.

Are we going to be knee jerk and buy players doing decent in euros? These rarely work out.
Not all knee jerk. In some ways it's a good chance to see players with quality and how they perform against better opposition/athletes than they might come up against in their home leagues.

You'll always have some outlier players who play out of their skin for a few weeks like Enner Valencia, El Hadji Diouf and Roman Pavlechenko. But Gilberto Silva, Mascherano, Carlos Tevez and even Di Maria earned big transfers with their performances at international tournaments.

I'm sure some clubs will be convinced that Marcus Danielson is the answer at CB, Orsic or Yarmechuk are PL level attacking players. But with players like Sanches, Damsgaard, Locatelli, Spinnazzola, Malen, Dumfries, Phillips, Isak and whoever else, it's a confirmation of talent people knew was there when they play at a level with higher stakes and in some cases with better players. I don't think I'd turn down any of that last lot just because they had the temerity to play well in an international tournament, though obviously you use the rest of their career to make your judgment as well.

Yeah, I"m kinda on the fence about that one. :pochlol:

I cannot be clear enough about how NOT a teamplayer this kid is. He is for purely a counter team. Nothing else in his game to work with otherwise. I say this as someone that supports Valencia and have watched many a game of his headless chicken act. He is fast as hell and that will have most on this board wanking. He can pummel the ball and that might get the other half. But he had a very nice loan season with Valencia after Mendes left him on PSG's doorstep with just a binky. And since Valencia is a Mendes team they bought him for over the odds...surprising most fans even after his good season. He's not lived up to his price again...but this is funny money so no idea exactly how much actually changed hands anyway but we shouldn't be the ones that clean the funds by actually paying for him now.

My football worlds are colliding. First Valencia go down the Mendes shitter and now Spurs...shitty owners, both. Just need Aulas to give him a reacharound and I'll have the trifecta.

Very nicely stated and totally agree.

- New CB x 2
- New RB/RWB
- New backup ST
- New CAM or RW (Depending on formation Nuno uses)

We need 5 players. 3 or 4 for the first team and 1 or 2 for extra depth

1 probably needs to be homegrown and we also need to sell a few players. In my mind I'd put on the for sale list

Carter-Vickers , Sanchez , Dier , Aurier , Sissoko , Winks , Lamela , Maybe Dele

I'd also try and get Bale back if possible, that solves one of the problems (the last bullet point) [IMO]. Or someone like Sabitzer would be good for that position too.

I see a lot of links to CM's but in my mind Skipp/Hojbjerg/Lo Celso/Ndombele is enough and all very good options!

On the same episode of his podcast that this is from he also updated the reported fee we have offered for Tomiyasu. He claims that we have offered 18 mil + bonuses, Bologna would prefer 20-25 mil. Certainly a gap that can be crossed easily enough.

Since when did Levy & Lewis cross gaps easily?
Grealish springs to mind but there are many more cases of "mind the gap".
At the beginning of his tenure as DoF Levy did quite well, getting good deals through the sleight of hand. But then he was found out....yet he did not seem to have understood that so he kept up with his old "tricks" and in order to save money on deals he ended up losing money - both on outgoing and incoming deals. And putting off a few clubs in the process.

Perhaps Berwijn, Dele & Moura are all on the way out?
Even Son could be if he doesn't sign the contract it's reported he supposedly signed 2 months ago.
I wouldn't mind if Berwijn, Dele & Moura were sold but not being replaced by Guedes... However, it will it not be easy to move all 3 players at the "wanted" price.
One of the things I don't like is when a manager drags in players from his own country, thinking he knows them just because they were born in the same country.

I watched Lille a fair few times last two years.

According to TM, He missed 12 through injury, was a sub for another 11 . Of the 14 games he started he was subbed of in 9 of them.

Last 2/3 games I watched he got shifted out of cm to RW/RM, with Soumare playing there instead (a player I’m exactly in love with).

No need to get bent out of shape T, or grass me up to RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK . I may well end up being wro less right about him, and he may turn out to be spunk bread. I think he has gradually learnt to compose himself a bit better and harness some of the ability he has, I don’t hate him, just don’t share your rampant hard on for him.
