It's odds on that Aurier, Sanchez and Sissoko will leave the club this summer.
IMO so will Rodon. Maybe a loan but more likely a sale.
So non-HG should not be an issue.
Out of those 3 I'd rather keep Aurier for a 3-5-2 and play him further up the field where he is more likely to be useful.

There's no way he's as shit as he was last season, he needs to be a RWB, rather than a RB.

Jack Clarke didn’t even start for Leeds before we bought him.

If we can’t develop youngsters this season- when we’re in the ECL, when can we?
If Gil & Madueke start all Cup games and a handful of PL games, that’ll be around 20 starts. Decent game time?
Fair, I almost disagreed with myself as soon as I paused and considered Madeuke. He's turning out better than I expected him to when first I watched him and looks like he could be a special player.

Coutinho would probably be more useful on the field than many would think given the failure of his move to Barcelona. He's also 29, big wages, injury prone. If he was more durable I'd be all for it.

Is anybody else kind of hoping City just bid 150m for Kane so we can move on and build a new team? Obviously he's a great player but we can do more with that money than we can with 2/3 more years of peak Kane.
People will say that he only played 14 games last season, but he did also tear his meniscus in his right leg. That's sort of a valid excuse.

And he was outright good for Bayern on loan. 11 goals and 9 assists in 38 games in all competitions. Bayern just didn't want to take over his wages in full.

Coutinho is a luxury player, but he is a very good luxury player. We know that he is quality when healthy. There's plenty of empirical evidence for that.

If we were in the CL, I'd agree with you that youngsters such as Madueke, or existing ones such as Tanganga and Gil, may not get game time so would be better suited to loans out.
But ECL does guarantee them many starts... although hopefully the quality is high enough that it's a useful experience for them.

Aurier is in the last year of his contract and has wanted out for the last two seasons so he should be off this summer. The club aren’t likely to let him go for free next summer and we don’t want him given a new deal as he’ll then be harder to shift.

The Athletic:

Manchester City are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Aston Villa over the transfer of Jack Grealish in what would be a Premier League record-breaking deal worth £100 million.

Villa hoped he would stay and be part of an ambitious project, but they also respected his desire to play Champions League football and would not block his path if a suitable proposal arrived.

Similarly, Grealish was likely to have put pen to paper on the fresh terms unless City delivered what Villa wanted and ensured the transaction was handled in a cordial manner, so he could exit in the best possible way.

I just mean he could be the most useful out of Sissoko, Sanchez, and himself. Not that I want him to stay but only if we're keeping one of them. As I say I think as a RWB he'd be more useful than the other two in their positions .

I wonder if the 'Kane not tuning up to training' was manipulated by Levy so the fans are less pissed off when he goes to City (or wherever)?
That is obviously wrong. The fans had all accepted he had gone. We even for the most part wished him well. It was just about City stumping up the money for the best no 9 in the world (let's all not forget that). If they want to spend all their money on Grealish, despite having better players in his position, that is not our fault.

Love these links.

We need to be bringing players with a higher ceiling than the likes of Lucas, Bergjwin, Dele. We know what these guys are - there are not going to explode into world beaters. They are not going to become our new Eriksen.

We need a constant stream of young talent that has that type of potential and we need to move them on when it's clear they will not fulfill it ( see Dele and probably Bergjwin soon)

Damsgaards versatility is what appeals to me most. Just a quality creative player that could operate in many areas.

Don't know much about Madueke.

Does this mean the blue moon cheating bastards won’t get Kane now ? I hope so. Kane has a lot of grovelling to do now

So Levy is holding out for a higher bid, and Kane is sticking out his lower lip about it?

I think in the case Levy is right, Kane's bid needs to be over £100m. What Kane seems to be doing now is bringing his price down. I don't think he can complain if Levy wants more from City.
