The Athletic:

Manchester City are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Aston Villa over the transfer of Jack Grealish in what would be a Premier League record-breaking deal worth £100 million.

Villa hoped he would stay and be part of an ambitious project, but they also respected his desire to play Champions League football and would not block his path if a suitable proposal arrived.

Similarly, Grealish was likely to have put pen to paper on the fresh terms unless City delivered what Villa wanted and ensured the transaction was handled in a cordial manner, so he could exit in the best possible way.
Shots fired by the Athletic there. Very thinly veiled dig at Kane and the way his "team" have handled things.

He's very talented but not ready to start weekly in PL. Kind of the same with Damsgaard in a way, these lads should be playing weekly. Different level of player but look what's happened to Jack Clarke, a talented lad but we've completely stalled his progression as a footballer.
Never as talented as we thought. Jose was never one to develop young players he just shoves them in the deep end hoping they will swim.

if hes happy sitting on the bench all season sure

You realise he could got to any number of top clubs to get football. His choices are stay at city, go to spurs or go to someone else..

Sky reporting the Grealish to City deal is almost done.

IF that does go through, I think it makes the Kane deal less likely to happen.

I disagree. They're going all in now. While there seems to be less attention on FFP than ever.

The problem is Man City have not bid £160m they want Kane for £100m. They have told Kane that is what they are willing to pay for him. The fact is we cannot replace him for £100m. Spurs will end up on the losing end if we capitulate before last week of the window and City get desperate and then it is too late to sign replacement. But fuck Kane and Fuck City and there abhorrent owners I say keep him and play him in the under 23s. The fact is any City fan who supports their club do not care about the blood and oppression where the cash for the success came from.
I'm not saying we should accept £100m, but why can't we replace him with that money? Ings and Vlahović combined would cost less than that, cost less in salaries, and could arguably produce the same as Kane.

Have you ever seen Vlahovic play and Ings (Like Kane) is injury prone and is a year older than Kane, I also think that Southampton play to his strengths, he also has only had one season in the premier league where he has netted more than 12 goals. There is no way any top club should be planning any future around Ings. I have a feeling City will sign Ings as a stop gap until Mbappe and Haaland are available next summer.

Kane offers both goals and creativity. We already needed a 2nd striker because we don’t have one but we would need 2 good strikers and both to have good seasons and possibly upgrades in AM as well to compensate and that is if it all works.

I don't think we'll struggle for goals. Which means creativity shouldn't be a problem either. Kane does provide that in bunches, but if we play a different system, that can be compensated for. I know it's just friendlies, but our movement in the attacking third seemed so much better and we created a lot of chances. Add Gio, Tubby, and a more advanced PEH and we may not be that far off.

We should take 130m - would allow a much needed rebuild of a bang-average, ageing squad

Kane doesn't wanna play for us anymore - nothing can change that fact
No. At least 150M. What's with us underseling our own players? We have the best striker in the World, and City are lacking one. If they want to get him, they have to pay up like there's no tomorrow, considering also that they're a team in the same division, and that Kane counts as a homegrown player. If he doesn't want to stay, so be it (which I don't even think that it's true).
