I'm excited, Tommy..

Every team should have some mid-fielder that is creative. No matter what the system is. We had no way of breaking through defenses when playing defensive teams. We lost and drew numerous games despite having most of the possession. Zaniolo and Kessie were linked with us. They'd be ideal. Eriksen as well. I'd take him too. Conté looks for versatile players, I agree so he'd welcome a versatile AM.
During Pochettino's time, I remember Spurs also had problems breaking through defensive teams even with Eriksen on the team. Even Barca and Man City at their best have problems breaking through tight defenses, so there are no guarantees.
I am not against having a quality creative CM but that player should be as good or almost as good as Spurs' front 3 (front 4 if Richarlison joins) to be worth "sacrificing" 1 of them for that creative CM. And such a midfielder is costly, and won't be happy sitting on Spurs' bench as an "emergency option".

I remember when the likes of Carrick, Modric and Berbatov left. United and Madrid fans were moaning and against it.
Kinda see that in us at the moment and the Everton fans have noticed it.
