If we ended up with Spence and Lenglet and sell all the players we want out, we'll pretty much have broken even if not made money.

Conservative numbers here IMO
£10M CCV
£25M Bergwjin
£25m Emerson
£25m Reguilon
£15m Winks
£15m Rodon

If we were to sell GLC, TND, and Sanchez too we'll be we'll in the green somehow.
That then begs the question - what do we do with the money we raised? Do we buy one or two superstars to really push for the title?
What bona-fide superstars are there that we can actually sign?
I'm saying no to Bastoni. Not interested in leaving Inter at all.
I'm saying no to Gvardiol. No one at 20 is a fully fledged Superstar and for the quoted price, a ludicrous gamble.
Are we then into the midfield and the attack?

Who?
Don’t worry about the who….. inwould be amazed if they all went for those fees. CCV, Berg and Rodon will go IMO, others loans

I can't figure out if you're disagreeing with my comment or not. But your point is exactly the same as mine. I couldn't halve my salary as it just about covers my outgoings.
If some one has outgoings of £50k a week they need to take a long hard look at themselves. If that was my salary and I had aspirations of playing for my country and, potentially earning more BY playing, I'd take the pay cut and leave. I wouldn't turn up to training every day knowing I was nowhere near playing. I'd be embarrassed tbh.

For the record, I don't think he is worth much at all.
But someone does

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'm absolutely disagreeing. It's all too easy to look at someone who earns much more than you and judge them, without remembering that you earn much more than other people in the world. It's all relative - there is no more reason for a £80k footballer to halve his salary than for you to halve yours, and there is no more or less impact on the resulting lifestyles - both you and him would have to change your lifestyles if you halved your wage.

You say that 'if someone has outgoings of £50k a week they need to take a long hard look at themselves', yet you seem to fail to realise that people who earn far less than you or me would probably look at our outgoings and say something similar. As I say, it's all relative.

Even if we don’t get them over the line by South Korea I don’t care.

I’m more interested in seeing Gil, Sarr, Parrott, etc. all the younger guys if they can impress Conte because I think they all could be good for the squad this upcoming season.

Also let’s be real. The only person the Koreans want to see is Son. We could just send him and the tour would be a success. :sonpoint:
I'm pretty sure they will be going on loan.

All three are going to South Korea because Conte wants to watch them closely. They very well could go on loan but they very well could impress him enough to at least start the season with Spurs. Especially with 5 subs if they stay they could get a chance somewhere

I think what Matt1882 is saying is that there comes a point where you really need to try hard to spend more money. Someone living in a one-bedroom and driving a Peugeot can easily upgrade to a 3- or 4-bedroom and drive a Benz, if his salary allows him to. But someone who already lives in a 4-bedroom and drives a Benz would be hard pressed to upgrade further, unless he went for a small castle and a stable of exotic cars. And not everyone does that. So leftover income would be a larger proportion of one's income.

And, of course, it also depends on the person. I don't know Winks, but he doesn't strike me like the type who would go for the small castle and stable of exotic cars. Same with Kane, Davies, Hobby, and several other players. So, I do think that in his case what Matt said is probably closer to the truth.
