The club is now on a different trajectory, delayed due to COVID. Its now not a question of fighting for top 4 but cementing that position, aiming higher and finally for silverwear.

The club is thinking and acting differently, now the fans need to get in that mindset too👍👍
I am a true Spurs Fan......................................never going to get that Mind Set

If we go for Maddison, Chelsea will hijack it, Maddison very close with Chilwell
Everything the new Chelsea hierarchy has done this summer says, they are scattergun and not decisive as previous regime. Also, Tuchel himself said a day back, defense is his only priority.

As for us, we have been decisive on deals. Spence might have dragged but we had convinced the player 100% to come to only us, so it was a matter of when not if.

Any deal for Maddison this window would depend on us getting him on board.

Madison is a quality player and would massively improve us in the middle of the pitch

I found this.

James Maddison is set to face Tottenham this weekend when his Leicester host the north London club on Saturday evening.

But it could have been very different for the 22-year-old midfielder.

That’s because Spurs actually almost signed Maddison back in 2015 only to walk away from the €400,000 move.

Three years ago Maddison was starring for Coventry in League One with former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp recommending him to the club.

The White Hart Lane side were in pole position to land the then teenage sensation, but eventually rejected the signing with chairman Daniel Levy wanting to move away from buying young talent in the lower leagues.

That had always been Tottenham’s policy, with the likes of Gareth Bale, Kyle Waker and Dele Alli all joining from the Football League.

But unfortunately for Maddison, he was a tad too late to the party, with the summer of 2015 being the turning point for Spurs and their policy of looking for more established names.

Maddison himself eventually went to Norwich before signing for Leicester earlier this year in a deal worth €25m.

He’s now firmly established as a genuine Premier League talent and earned his first England call-up in November.
Interesting. So we could have bought an up & coming Maddison for £400k.

If we now shell out north of £60m on Maddison, and exercise that rumoured £30m buyback on our Academy product KWP, then the Evolution of Daniel Levy into Hey Big Spender will have occurred.

That said, the weeks he spent haggling over the Spence deal suggests some of the old Levy DNA is still there...

We are in talks. Leicester very reluctant. But his contract and more takes it out of Rodgers hands. Would be an excellent acquisition. We are willing to pay. Turning your nose up at him (some) is baffling. I personally hope it happens. Plenty work to do. Winks in the mix as well.

Fuck it. I was hoping we were in for him.

Maddison

This guy who's pretty good and on point with most things he says put this on his Instagram

"I've spoke about it before and at the time it was a no go.

But the press will start reporting Tottenhams interest in Maddison again in the coming days.

I'm not saying this will happen but Tottenham have gone back in

When Tottenham last showed interest they were given a ridiculous price by Leicester and Conte personally didn't feel it was worth it despite liking the player.

They now have had indication that Leicesters price may be more realistic.

There's some that believe that Leicester want to get players out the door before they buy. Which is why the maddison and Tielemans price may of been reduced and they may also be open to selling castagne as well as some non starters"

That’s probably made up nonsense but it does sound plausible.

OK, what did the 13 year old cunt say about us...?

Remember he is from Denmark, letting your team mate shag your wife is probably normal over there.
Oh Jesus....

Please call 1979, someone wants their opinion back!

If our new wonderful squad achieves another 6 wins than we did last season that is 18 points better and would put us on 89 points. 3 behind Liverpool. 4 behind City.

What an incredible amount of ground that needs to be made up to even challenge!

If KWP is sold for £12 million and bought back for £30 million that isn’t good business is it? Or am I missing something?

Signing James Maddison would sign a midfielder who scored 12 goals last season. Great signing! Based on that I think we are matching Liverpool and City in midfield and attack. Then we just need a VVD signing at centre back.

Sadly Woolwich were generally better than us during the 90's - selling the likes of Anelka and Overmars for excellent fees helped. We might have had a lucky break under Martin Jol to get 4th but lasagnegate intervened, and their better squad then saw them maintain our dominance.

If you want to blame someone you might want to consider the Harringey labour party who consistently opposed any form of regeneration until the Tottenham riots forced a change of policy - and of course Spurs stadium was part of the regeneration so was held up for years, even possibly a decade or so. And being confined by the revenues of WHL was a prime reason why our player investment could never match Woolwich......... but that of course is changing from the time crowds can get back into the stadium post covid which also helps all the other associated revenue streams.
I think blaming the Haringey Labour Party for not being fully on board with gentrification in one of the poorest centrally funded Boroughs in the country just shows the priorities of football fans and regular folk are very different.

David Lammy gave it the push after the riots but after the chancers from Scholar to Sugar we had in charge pre ENIC the reticence of the council was not only understandable it was totally justified. If any thing its the thing Levy's critics overlook. He was the right man to do it he just took too long getting started before he'd proved him self not another Scholar local government we're right steer well clear.
