Paratici typically spend 50% of his working week in Italy where he lives and 50% at Spurs training ground.

Next story please

Italian outlet CMW claim Tottenham will splash a club-record £85million on Lautaro Martinez this summer – if Harry Kane joins Bayern Munich. However, the England skipper looks more than likely to remain in North London.

Kane, 28, has two years left on his contract at Spurs. While he was strongly linked with Manchester City last summer, the situation surrounding Kane looks as if he will remain with Tottenham during the current window.

However, links to Bayern Munich were always going to be likely – after they sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona. Despite the arrival of Sadio Mane, Bayern will want a proper no.9 to replace their legendary Polish striker.

Kane is an easy link but Fabrizio Romano has ruled out any potential move. However, CMW report that if that changes this summer and Kane does go to Bayern – Spurs are already prepared. They will move for Inter’s Martinez.

The Argentina international has been strongly linked with a move to reunite with Antonio Conte this summer. Jamie O’Hara even rated a deal as a 9/10. Now, CMW say if Kane does go, Tottenham will splash £85million on Martinez.

IF KANE JOINS BAYERN: TOTTENHAM WILL SPLASH £85MILLION ON MARTINEZ
What a signing Martinez would be. Realistically, if Tottenham do end up losing Kane – which would be a surprise – they would have to spend big to appease fans. Martinez would be a stunning addition.

He scored 25 goals in 48 games last season for Inter. But he does thrive off playing with a move physical no.9 – Romelu Lukaku or Edin Dzeko, for example. So, if Spurs lose Kane and sign Martinez, they will need another no.9.

As I've said all along, I won't suddenly start heaping praise on the owners because of a shopping spree.
I'll heap praise on them when it looks like the club is actually trying to win things rather than build sustainable revenue streams.
I don't actually care if our net spend is £100m or £0
I care that the squad is better now. I care that winning now is more important than hedging bets on young prospects. I care that players coming to Spurs aren't brought in because they may one day have resale value.

We are kind of seeing this. In 4 years time Perisic will be in an old peoples home, Bissouma and Richarlison will be near/at 30, Forster will probably still be waiting for his debut. These are not the type of players we typically sign, so there is a shift.
Just need to translate it to success now.

Nice speech, but that doesn't change the fact that you just strawmaned the bloke with some shite he didn't say.

No-one asked you to "heap praise on the owners" either (rent free!)..... One can merely be pleased with our transfers.

I was joking asking for the next story..... unless its more credible stories than based upon HK leaving

Strange, I'm excited to see all our new signings play.

Oh well, it takes all sorts I suppose.
Nett Spend I believe to be a very valid argument when we do little to no business . Or as fans we feel the purchases were cheap options that the manager was not on board with. This windowi do not believe that to be the case, so I don’t mind if Levy makes some money back as long as it is on selling fringe superfluous players, which is what I expect will happen

Proof will be in the pudding next season , but I feel our first eleven and squad are both a fair bit stronger , don’t really care how the finances look at the end of the window ref nett spend

Because there is nothing to complain about, Conte as been backed, we have got signings in early. Everybody wants this, so if there is no complaints about net spend it's a good thing.
Yeah i dont get the argument that we're all somehow bitter about this summer. All the moaning over previous summer windows has come down to sell before buying, late deals so players miss pre season and general lack of spend and ambition. We've done the opposite this summer which is what many of us, who were unhappy with our previous approach, wanted. It shows it has been possible all along.

...."All"?

Who said that?

That's fair.... We've already seen comments like "what about the 150m?" from a few though; laying the groundwork for net-spend bitching at the end of the window.

Similarly if (eg) Spence struggles to begin with or Perisic gets injured; "we should have spent more on more/younger/better" will be banded about by the same people in an instant.

Plenty of refutable criticism has been made in the past; that tendency won't disappear in a hurry.... If at all.

I doubt Harry will ever leave us. If he does it won’t be to Bayern. Plus they don’t pay daft transfer fees.

I like how the squad is being built - all his pre-appointment rumours were he only liked older experienced players to achieve 'success now' and nothing about the future :

Bentancur - 25 years old
Kulusevski - 22 years old
Bissouma - 25 years old
Richarlison - 25 years old
Spence - 21 years old

Sure we've signed 33 year old Persic who will be here for 2 years (might be longer as he looks really fit), but he might be the catalyst to get Sessegnon to become a LWB, Forster as a 2nd GK on a 2 year contract is fair enough but he's experienced enough to cover Lloris if necessary, and Lenglet on loan as its not clear if any of our first choice CB's will be available this summer.

So overall Conte's signings should be around for 6+ years yet provide a lot of experience and skill right now.

Really like this balance of signings

Exactly my point
I can guarantee however, that some will say "we didn't spend the 150m blah blah blah"

I don't give a damn how much we spend. It's the quality of players signed that counts, not how much they cost.
