Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As I've said all along, I won't suddenly start heaping praise on the owners because of a shopping spree.
I'll heap praise on them when it looks like the club is actually trying to win things rather than build sustainable revenue streams.
I don't actually care if our net spend is £100m or £0
I care that the squad is better now. I care that winning now is more important than hedging bets on young prospects. I care that players coming to Spurs aren't brought in because they may one day have resale value.

We are kind of seeing this. In 4 years time Perisic will be in an old peoples home, Bissouma and Richarlison will be near/at 30, Forster will probably still be waiting for his debut. These are not the type of players we typically sign, so there is a shift.
Just need to translate it to success now.
A bit of a contradictory post there mate.

Firstly you say that you won't heap praise on the owners until it looks like they're trying to win things.

You then go on to list things that show that they're trying to win things.
Which includes a 150m owner investment in the playing side that you omitted from your list.

Exactly my point
I can guarantee however, that some will say "we didn't spend the 150m blah blah blah"

I don't give a damn how much we spend. It's the quality of players signed that counts, not how much they cost.

I don't believe it was ever planned to spend £150m this transfer window - always likely that we'd not find enough quality players we liked available.

And whilst I like what I can see of the squad going into next season I think 'in the ideal world' we might want to have got ten or so in (which was never realistic) so we were always planning to have a 2nd big summer transfer window next year (maybe including a GK as Hugo is not getting younger) to add more quality and depth. And so a proportion of the money is available next summer to help fund that.

The season is 3 weeks away. We haven't finished our business - hardly anyone of note has left yet. Conte still hasn't signed a new deal, which I'm not totally against. He is a bit erratic and I'd rather pay him a year to go away than 5 like some do.

What I'm saying is really simple - it's far too early to say the corner has been turned.

Incoming Players :

Persic,
Bissouma
Richarlison
Forster
Lenglet
Spence

Outgoing Players :

Bergwijn
Clarke
CCV

Players to be managed out include Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Winks, Royal, others whose futures being assessed probably include youngsters Gil and Sarr

Other Incoming : Maybe one/two or max three players. Who know ?!

True but generally it cost more for elite players and Conte wants them. If they are world class and free like Perisic great but if we have to spend £60m here for Richarlison or £25m for Bissouma etc having lots of money makes that happen.

A big cash injection also means we can buy these players quickly ahead of our rivals without needing to sell first.

I think we will bring in at least one more player but even if we don’t I think this has been a very good window. Levy has backed Conte. It’s now up to Conte and the players to actually deliver. They talk about wanting to win well you have all the tools now, a full preseason, and half a year of Conte. They should be ready.

I think the window is a 9/10 right now. It would be 10/10 if we signed Conte and Kane to long term contracts by the end of it.

I’m very satisfied with the signings.

For me a 10/10 window is a top quality CB, ideally left sided. Gvardiol, Bastoni, even Torres level and I’d be over the moon.

Maddison would be nice but I’m happy enough atm with out MF & FWD options

This could be an ITK post based on the amount of words to useful information ratio.

Its been good so far, maybe a 7/10. A creative player would take it to 8.5, a Gvardiol Bastoni, Torres would take it to a 10. Personally would rather have a creative player than another centre back as i think its the one thing we lack.

I don’t see how Tanganga will be sold. We can’t afford to lose a club trained player for UCL…!?

I think the dilemma is that Tanganga needs a consistent run of games so a loan would be good for him rather than play the odd game here and there.

But losing a club trained player for a season will leave us with one player short in our squad.

So its a balancing act, and may depend on us getting another HG player in to fill the minimum 4 HG players whilst leaving us with only 3 Club trained players and a total squad of 24 players.
