Conte after Roma match :

"I have to be honest. In my career the contract was never important. I didn't need to sign contracts for one, two or three years. For the club it could also be a weight," he said. "I'm happy, I'm happy. We're working really well together. It's not that one year on the contract more or less can change the situation.

"For sure we want to continue to improve, to build something important for this club. If the idea continues to be in this way, there will be zero problems to continue my life in Tottenham because I stay well and I like this group of players and I have a good relationship with Paratici and with Daniel Levy.

Yeah Davies-Dier are bang average. This has been proven in recent times. Just because Conte stabilizes things a bit, doesn't mean they are great. They have made tons of individual mistake, that just because enemy team doesn't score on any single occasion where they were making errors, that doesn't make them great, and stats doesn't tell you a thing. This is football, not tennis, where it's all individual performance.
They are also bad on the ball and can't pass fast and accurate to safe their life.

If they were so great we wouldn't be on the market for new ones.
Lenglet as i said i will comment when he make at least 5+ matches for us.

Also there is a plenty of previous season and matches where i form this opinion. Just because someone form has gone up for a bit, doesn't mean it will stay up for the next season or that he suddenly become top players from being bang average before that.
What was our performance before that Conte come? Yeah they are bang average.

Romero is great i haven't talk about him.

2. Yeah right here you are showing how much you know about football. Bissouma is DM, he has nothing to do with the players we need, aka creative midfielder. This ain't fifa bud.

3. Nice try to twist my word. Now go back and read what i stated, think again(if you can), and you will understand what i mean.

And yeah we are lacking that type of magician player, as Son is nothing alike that. But your lack of knowledge is showing once again.

If we were so great, as some people on here trying to make us, we wouldn't have struggle to get top 4, and even with Conte we barely, barely got it, thanks to Woolwich managed to do a huge screw job, losing 3-4 games in a row, against bang average teams.

And yeah our defense was not top notch, not even close one. United banged us 6 goals in 2 matches, we lost to ***** Ns Mura 2-1.
And we were knocked out of Fa Cup and EFL Cup.

Yeah Conte did magic with what he had, but that squad just wasn't good enough and as i said we started great on the market, but there is still a lot to be done, in order to say this is a great window or 8+ one.

Grow up if you are a Spurs fan, Get out if you are not. But either way please stop trolling with ignorant comments.

Conte clearly very happy with the way the window has gone (and his January signings) and he knows a hell f a lot more about football than you

one bad preseason game and ppl have shit the bed. How many times has it been proved to have zero correlation to the season ahead? We've bossed it in seasons gone, and then faltered in the league.

From where i'm sitting our squad is much improved, both first team and subsequent bench, and we start with a full proper Conte pre season under our belt and a steady ship.

I can see Liverpool being the ones to chase but lets not forget the TW isn't shut now and it's likely there would be more ins and outs yet

Wait until Woolwich are above us after the first month of the season because they have piss easy fixtures and we have hard ones. They'll be idiots calling for the manager to be sacked and the ENIC thread will be full of the usual posters blaming Levy for it. Can see it coming a mile off.

Have you not noticed this has never stopped Chelsea, City, PSG, RBL, and now even Barcelona?
Apparently finding £200m under the sofa is enough for FFP to be complied with.
They have much larger income streams than Newcastle - Premier League money, Champions League money, Cups prize, merchandise, TV money, Stadium income, player sales etc. Newcastle currently only have PL, tv, stadium and merchandise money at present. Their income streams are way less than the top teams

Yeah...why waste your time (and more importantly ours) by writing such an incomprehensible, incorrect pile of fatberg garbage

It doesn't matter.
In fact, PSG signing Neymar and Mbappe proved it doesn't matter. FFP will only come after Newcastle if they do it for years and don't increase their income in the ensuing period.
A few years in the Champions League, a crooked shirt sponsorship deal, renaming the stadium etc and they'll "balance" the books.

Davies and Dier were excellent in defence last season and contributed more to our defence than Romero. Granted, they don't have fancy sounding foreign names.

I suspect Royal will be starting ahead of Doherty for the majority of our fixtures.
Excellent is an absolutely massive stretch. They were adequate, as they have been for neigh on 10 years in a spurs shirt now (Dier and Davies) would they get anywhere near Liverpool, City, United, Chelsea’s teams? Absolutely not. So why are we continuously pretending that they’re good enough?

Also, Royal is even worse than Doherty, so I’m not sure why you’re saying that as if it’s a good thing…

What’s to dress up? All 3 were important cogs in us achieving champ lge football
Ah come on man. They were okay, improved slightly by a brilliant manager that implements a rigid defensive system, and we scraped to Champions League football because Woolwich completely and utterly shat the togs…

Dier and Davies have been in the team for neigh on 10 years now and will never, ever be top level players. They wouldn’t get next to near any other Champions League team in the PL so why are Spurs fans constantly pretending to themselves that they’re good enough? Why not strive for better?

I sort of agree with your point and i think we need another real top class centre back but is Davies much worse than Ake? Matip is hardly brilliant. John Stones, good on the ball but makes a lot of mistakes.

Since Rodon is going and although not favoured was a strong leader type player we therefore IMO have a lack of cover for Dier. Langlet and Davies are fine for LCB and Romero and Sanchez for RCB but we need someone to compete/cover with Dier.

We seemed to be linked with this 6’5ft defender right now.

Exactly. All of them are bang average, no matter what some fanboys on here are saying. Neither is good enough for top team.
Also we started well on the market, but we are far far from 8, 9 or 10 window.
Currently we are at 6 out of 10 in my opinion.
I would have change our whole defensive line and our midfilders. We still don't have a solid CM and we are missing such player for long time. We also don't have quality winger who is very fast and can dribble great past defenders and open enemy defense. Raphinha would have been great. We need that kind of magic player.
People keep repeating Conte's Chelsea, but they had a world class Hazard and more balanced team.
Absolutely bang on.

This window has been one of our most cautious windows in years (so far, a rabbit could still be pulled I know.)
It’s like we’ve just looked to consolidate, not really push the boat out and improve, which is such a shame.

Ake, John Stones and Matip are not guaranteed starters for either of their teams, and Matip would walk into our team in any case.
In comparison, Dier and Davies will be the lynchpin of our defence this season. (Assuming Paratici doesn’t pull a late manoeuvre.)

We need another CB and with Rodon and Tanganga going i'm sure we'll get one. I agree that they need to be first team from day 1 quality. I just dont think Dier and Davies are that bad. Dont neccessariliy want them starting every week in an ideal world but they have upsides and are good to keep around.

Wait until Palace turn the gooners over on Friday and then we handily beat Southampton on Saturday...
