I'm convinced that people want Raphinia over Richarlison to get one over on Woolwich fans. :D

Raphinia actually I think is better technically and passed the eye test if you compare but we'd get far more out of Rich, just an absolute Conte player, direct, strong, never stops running and can play across the front line, mentally tough and an absolute shit house, I actually cannot think of a more perfect foil to our front 3 and someone to take the pressure off Kane.

Gold again lamenting some unrealistic Spurs fans over the rate/speed of signings.

Worth reminding people that many PL clubs have yet to make ANY signings this summer, including ManU and Chelsea. My candid assessment of ManU's squad is it needs a lot more work than Spurs does - just looking at their striker options :

Ronaldo - unless every pass goes to Ronaldo he doesn't contribute much these days, goals but no pressing.
Cavani - now getting on, at end of contract unlikely to renew
Rashford - Badly out of form for 2 years for ManU and England
Greenwood - Not allowed into training ground, will he ever play for ManU again ?
Martial - At one time an excellent emerging striker, now hated by ManU fans for lack of effort. Been loaned out but no permanent move found for him
Lingard - Winger at end of contract, wants out
Shoretire - Dane Scarlett's main opposition in England year groups, but missed out of last E squad, just cannot compete with Scarlett's current run of 10 goals in 10 appearances for E u19's, not a great omen for Shoretire or ManU

IMO I don't know how ManU rebuild a forward line from here - other than buying forwards like going out of fashion and dumping all the above ?

Meanwhile Spurs have Kane, Son, Kulusevski and Moura (assuming Bergwijn's on his way) plus youngsters coming through (but probably to young for next season) ...... and its clear we are trying to sign other decent forward options to give us rotation without too much drop off from almost world class forward line. Yet some fans think we are in a bad place and need to do more.

I would hate to be a ManU fan facing a rebuild of our forwards - and they will be looking very enviously at Spurs options even without reinforcements.

Worth watching an interview with Nick Pope on his transfer from Burnley to Newcastle where he talks of the transfer taking 3 weeks (and BTW Bale from Spurs to Madrid took 6 weeks) to appreciate how long transfers usually take to do. We made our 3rd signing just a week ago .......

great post. We will do more deals. they will be high quality but I suspect not the 6-8 that some seem to be hankering for. We were great in the last 3 months of last season and have already made improvements

The way some people are talking about Arse it's as if everyone else will 'stand still'...... They won't.

If you include no Europe; last season was a huge opportunity blown for them.
I think people just need something to talk about. I'm just on here to avoid learning about the finer points of cryptography. 😭

... but yeah huge opportunity blown by them. The points gap don't reflect where we were as a team at the end of the season. We were looking like a Conte team that can beat anyone, while they were running out of gas.

Agreed. Richarlison is used to playing in a low possession side, that fits us more. He's also a big aerial presence, we need that both in defensive set pieces and in attack. Kane is the only forward or midfielder that is good on attacking set pieces, and he's not as good as he used to be.

Ideally you'd get both... but this is the real world.
