There are definitely pointers to Adama imo, not least the absence of obvious elite RWBs on the market. Traore has obvious weaknesses, but somehow Conte sees a player he could work with. He likes pace and strength for his WBs and Traore works hard too. Maybe he's not 100% convinced, but he's tempted I think. If he goes for him, it's because he has a very specific idea of how he can make it work.
The five subs ting makes a freak like Adama more appealing, could be a great impact sub. I can’t see him playing 90 mins vs a side like City at WB but he could definitely change the tone of a game on 60 if it’s flat and nothings happening vs bus parkers

I think we're more or less fine with homegrown for next year at least in the league (weird Welsh and Irish rules with UEFA): Forster, 3rd choice keeper, Sess and Skipp turn 22 and thus qualify, Davies, Kane, Tanganga, Doherty, and potentially Spence.

PL have HG rules that every club will struggle not to meet.

I think Spurs will want to go as deep as possible in CL (as well as PL) going forward which means we need to meet UEFA squad rules as well as PL rules, and under UEFA rules we are thin on HG players, especially if we assume Winks is off (possibility of Tanganga on loan to get more experience as not played much in last 3 seasons in Spurs first team).

Club trained : Kane, Winks, Tanganga, Austin, Skipp (5 including Winks, minimum 4 required)

Trained at other clubs affiliated to The FA : Sessegnon

So currently 6 HG players (including Winks), minimum 8 players to get maximum 25 man squad

Excluded from above are players such as Clarke, Omole, Lavinier, and potential incoming such as Forster and any others.

So ideally maybe Forster and 2 other HG players to come in

Averaged 9 PL goals per season over the last 5 years, mainly playing as the main man. Can you really be talking about potential at this point in his career?
Son was only scoring 12 goals a season for us most of his career here. Everton are a proper shit team.

If this happens, we are a RWB away from a very very good first XI...

---------------------Lloris--------------------
-----------Romero-Dier-Bastoni----------
New RWB-Bentancur-Hojbjerg-Perisic
-----------Kulusevski-Kane-Son-----------

Add to this Eriksen on a free, another robust CM option, and then a forward who can play across the front 3 and we're really cooking.
Bentancur, PEH just doesn't do it for me. I can't take another season of PEH screwing up golden chances in the box. He should have won us that Liverpool game, like many other such games.

We need Bissouma/SMS or any other CM who is comfortable on the ball, and is a goal threat. If nothing comes up, I'd take McKennie over him.

I was a fan of Adama at RWB, and took a lot of flak for it, but have now changed my mind.

He didn't want to come to us in Jan, partly because we wanted him to play RWB. This shows he may not have the commitment for that very strenuous new position.
Also there are some clips of his poor decision making in the defensive third for Barca. I fear he may be too much of a liability defensively.
His lack of goal contributions for Barca where he was playing alongside good players is also concerning.
To quote Tyson Fury, he's a big dosser and a complete shithouse.

I don't really disagree, but in my post I mentioned bringing in Eriksen, and we'd also have Skipp. If we do nothing else, I think that would set us up quite well.

Yes Bentancur and PEH are more functional than I'd like, but in big matches, they're very useful and we can get creativity from the WBs and forwards.

I did say in my post though another CM would really take us to another level.

Let's remember though that we only conceded 5 goals in our last 11 matches. PEH and Bentancur are a huge part of that.

Bissouma is a goal threat.........who knew.

Again...ALL players with a market value will demand signing-on fees and bonuses as well as a higher salary that they normally wouldn't have gotten. And I would presume that those expenses would be eating into the transfer budget.

Absolutely correct

However I suspect (for example) that whilst a player with 1 year left on his contract might be sold for 25m (rather than 50m if he had 2 years left on contract) his sign on fee/extra wages might put the players 'total cost to buy' up to say 35m, its still a decent discount to 50m.

Same argument for 'free' players out of contract

Mckennie and SMS would never work in a 2

Pierre isn’t elegant, but he’s quick to the ball, makes smart decisions and passes forward.

It’s shit like that that wins games, not ndombele style stepovers.

Saying that, I’d take Tielemans as a more controlling/ progressive option.

It's weird because that's exactly the sort of side I CAN see him starting against (though not doing 90 of course - he'll hardly ever do 90, and that's fine for a player of his type). For me, he'd be useless against lower half sides or those where we have lots of possession - but in games against sides that will dominate possession and make it difficult for us to 'get out', his ability to smash past people and get us up the field would be invaluable.

From what I've seen McKennie does almost everything PEH does but adds those late runs into the box and actually finishes chances. He might be less athletic, but under Conte he can develop that side of his game too.

SMS would be alongside someone like Skipp who can let him do what he wants as more of an AM. He's got Eriksen G+A stats but has more physical presence, and can dribble better too.

Yes some games but he is City’s only real striker, if he was elite he would expect to be starting all the time. He is the most Woolwich of players, technically nice but he isn’t a fighter, he is a player that is streaky and does well when the sun shines. Richarlison isn’t perfect but for me he is a far better transfer target than Jesus.
Interestingly they are both Brazilians who play in a similar position. Who gets in ahead of who at international level?
