Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But the post I responded to was in this thread discussing the way we conduct our summer transfer business. So this is the only thread (and the correct thread) to respond in.

I think I've only ever started one ENIC thread in my 10 years on the forum, btw

You and your multis have started multiple enic/Levy threads.

That's why people are fed up with you turning this one into a repeat. (and yes you can invite people into your own enic/Levy threads with a reply there - if people want to bother)

I am sure you are intelligent enough to understand the point being made by that other poster and me.

I'm also a bit taken aback, they've been spending like crazy for a while too.

Why are they complaining about Kroenke again?

Not like they're raking it in. They're the poorest of the big 6.

The only explanation I could find is that they're burning through their cash reserves from the Wenger era.

Spursidol Spursidol what do you think?

Despite Woolwich fans comments over Kroenke he's the one now funding the club as slide below shows. He's actually bought in some of the 3rd party debt and put more of his money in - and given Woolwich position and on field performances I can see him having to put more money in for next few years. He's £202m in at end of last year so now might be circa £300m ?

The only redeeming feature for hi is off loading some high earners who were not contributing such as Auba and Lacazette - although looks like one of them may be replaced by Jesus.

He didn’t have a choice last season we had only two working midfielders. For Inter and Chelsea he mostly used 3 CB’s, 3 CM’s, 2 WB’s and 2 strikers.

He may opt to keep the 343/523 he used with us but if he has a full squad there is no reason he might not switch to his other system.
This is incorrect.

With Chelsea he played 343 almost exclusively after the first month or so he was there.

People like you banged on about how we would be spending now we have Conte & CL so all the Levy/ENIC critics would be made to look silly as the investment was coming. Now you're covering your tracks by preparing for the investment NOT coming but saying that's OK as long as we improve the squad?

These goalposts .. will they ever stop moving?

wtf is this rubbish, the windows hardly been open ffs

Most of us so called happy clappers couldn't give a shot if the whole £150 million gets spent, as long as Conte gets the players he wants who gives a shit how much they cost?

If Conte wants to spend every penny available to him, he’s earned that with the heroics of last season getting us CL football and seems happy with the money the board have given him to spend.
If, at the end of the window, he’s happy with his squad and he’s spent half of his budget, then we should be happy.
With a full pre season, & the players he wants, we will be in the mix.

I’m err…happy?

Kadir Çetinçalı | SPECIAL NEWS

Galatasaray are in talks with Tanguy Ndombélé, all conditions will be pushed. Ndombele is at the top of Galatasaray's transfer list.

I have no idea. But I find it very funny that a lot of people were getting very smug over the cash injection and acting like it now meant the spending was on its way, now at the very sign that might not be the case, the goalposts have been shifted and its as long as the squad improves who cares about investment!

We've made a few canny signings but there are times when a club needs to bite the bullet and spend, particularly when it comes to attacking players. Let's see where we end up..
Your complaint was general and I am an individual, so I cannot speak for others.

However it was never the case that I was happy about increased SPENDING. I was happy that the money would give us margins to IMPROVE THE SQUAD.

Many people seem to view spending and the transfer market as an end in itself. It is not - it is a way to improve the squad and therefore performances on the pitch (and one fraught with difficulty). If we can improve performances on the pitch by picking up 5 quality free transfers then ok delighted. Equally, if we need to spend big money to do that then I’m happy. But let’s not lose sight of the goal. It is not and never has been spending.
