What we lacked last season, before Kulusevski joined, was goalscorers other than Kane and Son. Richarlison should provide goals and has the quality to fit into our forward line.
He's not an overly exciting signing, but if Winks goes in the other direction then the deal makes a lot of sense as we guarantee money for him and his wages off the books.
 
Why are some of you concerned with woolwich signings "Oh they are gonna have a lot of fire power" yeah look at their midfield and defensive options.

TBF, the best thing about Jesus is not his goals, it's the workrate, off the ball movement, dribbling, and fairly decent hold up play.

Not sure that's what they need but it's better than a lot of the other options they could have gone for. If the chavs don't sort their shit out, woolwich could get 4th with Jesus, Raphina, Viera and no other real upgrades.
 
Richarlison is a way more exciting signing then Raphina in that he plays more positions we need, his output is just as good especially in that shit Everton side and he works his ass off way more than Raphina.

So yes right now I would say Raphinha is a #1 priority. He can play well at LW too, and I don't see him as a 'back up'- we need 4 class attackers if we are to challenge for multiple trophies.

We "need" RWB, LCB & ST2 more than we need another WF.

Raphinha is very good at LW too, while Richarlison is poor at RW.

Kane & Son are the 2 best players out of our front 3, so it makes more sense to buy a player who can provide healthy competition to Kulu at RW.

Rich means we don't need to buy another back up CF... but he's a worse signing in all other aspects.

Yeah, but the players available are important.
If Bastoni and Hakimi were available then perhaps they'd be the priorities. But they're not. Raphinha is a proven match winner, a player with X factor we should not miss out on.

It's entirely rational though. For a relegation team, losing a relegation 6 pointer is a more damaging blow than losing to a top team.
In the same way, Raphinha going to Woolwich doubles the blow of us missing out.
 
I have nothing of substance to add, but I live on the east coast of the U.S. and when it’s 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning and the only way I can get a football fix is to read this fucking thread, it’s tragic.

Would say the opposite - having back up to Kane and Son means we can rotate them a bit and they less likely to pick up fatigue injuries and more likely to keep fresh and in form

If Pep preferred to play no CF in recent years, rather than play GJ there, what does that tell you?

(It's not like Aguero was some beefy target-man; GJ should have been able to fit their system.)
