I agree. It was Emerson's first year at Tottenham, he got thrown at the deep end straight away vs Palace for Nuno after one training session and then had to play a new position (he has never played as a RWB before, apparently) when Conte took over.
Was he awful some games? Yes, definitely. However, from all accounts from journalists, people close to him and from what he has said in interviews himself, he is a highly consumate professional who strives to be the best.
I would not be surprised if Emerson becomes one of the better turn-around stories not only at Tottenham but in the Premier League.
He has the tools and the mental fortitude for it, and working with someone like Conte who likes players with his type of attitude and desire, I can totally see it happening.
I look forward to the moment where everyone starts apologising for ever wishing we sold Emerson.
