I guess.......

Brigton about as good an offer as he's gonna get in the prem. As we're learning, plausible options will be limited in Europe.

Not another one with Tanguy-syndrome I hope...... :(

I don't think so. He'd be a useful option for many teams, the wages aren't too prohibitive and he doesn't seem to have any attitude issues at all. Clearly does fancy a move to Spain though so we might end up with a loan with option to buy deal.

Really I can understand rejecting Brighton. He wasn't terrible last season at all, had a decent first season & was excellent for Sevilla .. his stock should still be higher than that.

Sounds similar to what we've been doing with Sarr.

If Perisic can hit this season running, I think we'd all be happy with Perisic and Sessegnon being #1 and #2 choice for left wing back for the next two seasons whilst Udogie is sent on loan to Udinese next season and then perhaps a Premier League club the following year.

Interestingly, Udogie only signed for Udinese last month.
Once he gets back to full fitness and gets his body fat count down to a good number.....

Can confirm the Udogie links, my silence on him over the last few weeks has in fact been a cryptic allusion to the transfer:

Udogie > Doggy style > sex > porn > something you have to watch quietly > silence!

So you see? As always this was passed on to the Head of the pyramid scheme ages ago, and remember...

Yeh, the Tanguy thing was a pretty broad stroke on my part.... Certainly not suggesting Reggie is a waster.

Just that as we're finding, these Sevilla level clubs on the continent are skint...... Which massively neuters the market for us. In theory Reg & Gio ought to be an easy sell, but reality is proving otherwise.

That starting 11 won 9 and drew 2 of the last 13 games last season, there isn't much wrong with it.

Could not agree more, and since January were the PL's second highest goal scorers.

Conte is building the squad with the mindset to play a strong starting eleven in all for competitions and add the fact that there will be five substitutions allowed from next season.

Progression to a third place finish and possible trophy should be seen as a success, and something to build on for the 2023/2024 season.

It’s Chelsea. They should whack the price up another ten million. Properly screw them.
When is Boehly going to run out of money? FFP clearly isn't going to stop him.

He's also buying, in American parlance, "first round draft picks", the pick of the young talent in the hope of getting a winning lottery ticket & the next global superstar.

Fuck Boehly & fuck the chavs. I can see Chucky sulking on the bench for a couple of seasons and regretting taking the filthy lucre as his career stagnates. At Villa, under Gerrard, he would have played a lot of first team football.

The likely arrival of Chukwuemeka follows Chelsea moving to buy the exciting 18-year-old midfielder Omari Hutchinson from Woolwich and the 18-year-old American goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina from Chicago Fire. There is a clear focus on bringing in more quality young players. Chelsea are targeting the 16-year-old Palmeiras forward Endrick, who is being courted by several of Europe’s biggest sides. They have also made two bids for Internazionale’s 19‑year‑old midfield prodigy Cesare Casadei.

Chelsea agree Carney Chukwuemeka deal and interested in Walker-Peters

I said before the new owners bought Chelsea that nothing would change at the club.
Yet many said their time was coming to an end and whilst RA legacy has now departed a new one will start up just as easily under these ones.

The difference is Boehly is there to make money, Abramovich was not. He won't keep funnelling in the cash if the return on investment isn't there. We'll see, but Chelsea have been buying big and buying young talent for years, and Abramovich ran up a 1.6billion loan by the end.
