But that's precisely what Conte has done, rather than play Davies there, when we were without Sess and Reg.
But we didn't have proper cover for LCB then to release Davies.
I'm not suggesting we turn Davies into a LWB, it's just that I don't think Doherty was any good there, he becomes a target for the opposition.
Davies imo is able to fill in there if need be, he could be a defence orientated LWB, in the mould of Emerson Royal on the other flank.
Not sure what the point is doing that tbh. Better to keep them and develop. Whoever we get is not going to play much so just waste of money. Conte really only trusts a core group of players anyway. If we are going to spend then buy a quality player for the first team either rwb or attacking midfielder.
