Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The players we are being linked with right now is so depressing.
We went into this window with such high hopes. Pau Torres, Bastoni, Bremer in defence. We’ve ended up with Lenglet, and we are still playing Davies and Sanchez.
Wing backs were a huge area that need upgrading. Perisic: great (for the short terms). But we are still stuck with Doherty, Royal, Sessingon (I really hope he comes good, on day) and meanwhile our other signing in this position is incapable of even making the bench.
We are crying out for ball playing creative central midfielder. Eriksen, Tielemens, Ruben Neves, James Ward Prowse, Paqueta were mentioned. We are now being linked with a 29 year old Atlanta player.
This was not the transfer window we were expecting. The players we have been slagging off for years are still here.
So much for the £150 warchest.
Yves and Richy (though not at that price (if only it were Jesus for cheaper)) I support as new additions. Persic too. The rest are pretty miserable.
I hope I’m proved wrong, but I suspect this will come back to bite us. It did after the Bale return window, in which everyone slagged me off for not thinking it was a brilliant window.

What a fucking stupid post. Fuck off

How DARE you continue to call yourself a spurs fan and post on this forum.

You’re not a spurs fan. You, like moan Thomas, are nothing but a whiny trolling little Woolwich fanboi.

Wind your neck in

Seriously?

After we signed a CM that was arguably best in the position in the league outside of TOP6, on bar with Phillips and Rice...
After we signed versatile forward player that was best player of Everton, who we were competing quite closely and who offers cover for all 3 positions in front 3.
After we signed Italian champion and world class fullback that was also brilliant in past season, and despite his age had higher top speed than any of our players? Plus we actually future-proofed position with exciting prospect who we loaned out.
After we signed a young HG option for RWB, while host of other EPL clubs were after him?
After we upgraded our backup GK position without paying anything?
After we took on loan once very highly regarded CB whose ability on the ball is visible even now and who could easily improve and benefit from change of system and playing in back 3 ?
After we have shifted out (though temporarily) Ndombele, Lo Celso, Rodon who were all surplus to requirements. After we made profit on Bergwijn who never proved himself with us. After we look to be selling quite limited academy product that is Tanganga for 20 mil pounds?!?
After NONE of the wanted players have left or wanted to leave ?!?

This is not window we were expecting?
Speak for yourself.

Are you actually disspointed in the window, or are you just acting like a small child whose mother brought home new, awesome and shiny toy but just does not give it to you before christmas eve ?!?!
Cause that is the situation now. Bissouma, Richalidson, Spence, Lenglet are all yet to start even a single EPL game. Yet you are slagging off this window like it would have been no use.

Look at the table for once - we are unbeaten, on 2 wins and 1 draw from very hard game. Most of the new recruits have had minimal impact up to now, AND window is open for 8 more days.

Sure, Winks is still not moved on and same goes for Reggie. But I expect these two issues to be resolved as well before window closes. Sure, we could make two more signings - more progressive passing CM/AM and CB. Sure - there are some players who might not be most exiting and could be upgraded upon - Doherty, Moura, Royal, Sanchez.
But squad is in SO much better shape then it was in the end of last season. Not to mention in start of january. Since then we have brought in EIGHT new faces.

Everything cannot be done within one window.
But this has been MASSIVE step towards right direction.

Outstanding post!

The fact that Moan Thomas disagreed with it just makes it more powerful and factual

This got 11 likes and 1 agree, amazing :D

I still think we need a number 8 ball carrier/guy with vision. I’ve not since much of Bissouma yet in a Spurs shirt, and Bentancur could find another gear, but I worry about us against teams playing keep ball. I know we did City twice last year and can ‘play in behind’ but don’t want to see us struggle against Brighton, Goons, Wolves etc and get away with the odd goal.

Oh ffs, just read my responses to you.
You're not getting it mate. Take Bastoni for instance

It would be quite easy to sign him.

1. Offer Inter £250m payable in cash in full.

2. Offer Bastoni £500k p/w.

3. Give him a £50m signing on bonus, paid up front.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
After all, we are 6th "richest" club in the world.

The hilarious thing is there’s one or two simpletons on here who would say this but actually be serious about it!

In all honesty, I would be bit worried if we signed Bastoni now.

I mean, I believe he is brilliant footballer. And he would improve our options significantly.

But if he'd join now, it would have feeling of Inter pushing him out against his will. And paying massive amount for someone who really does not want to come is very risky strategy. I much prefer transfers like Kulusevski - he was on board from the moment he stepped inside the clubs premises. And on the other end of scale is... well .. Ndombelly (NB! not comparing the two players, just talking about attitude towards the transfer!).

I know we have a stadium to pay off but I reckon the club could probably stretch to £500 a week wages

What would Adama bring?

Go watch the game against us last season, he tore us to shreds. When he gets on the ball he is direct and very fast. His final ball has always been poor, but he's also never had Kane and Son to pass to.

it seems Conte wants us to break fast and get up the pitch quickly. Kulu and Kane clearly lack pace and Adama would give us another option in that area.

We have a lot of games to play this season, including the FA and Milk cups. Gil is not at the required level and ideally we don't want to be playing Kane, Son, Kulu in the cup games.

A backup front 3 of Adama, Richarlison and Moura would scare most defences and is certainly an improvement over any backup front 3 we have had for the last decade at least.

Along with our rumoured interest in St Max, it looks like Conte wants a fast player who can run the ball up the pitch quickly and beat players 1 on 1. I'd suggest that Adama may be our deadline day backup to whomever is our primary targets.

Only that he did not tear us to shreds in any meaningful way ffs.
He ran around a bit. Sprinted, ran, lost the ball.

He produced next to nothing - I remember one cross that he put for Jimenez.
But that was it, 1 good chance.

Other moments he did beat his man and had fast sprint, but in the end did not do anything that would have put us in danger.

P.S "he's never had Kane and Son to pass to" sounds funny - it seems to imply that if you are unable to find a target, then better target makes YOUR passes magically reaching the target? Interesting concept :D .

P.P.S - at this point and in our current situation I would not be so massively against bringing him on board if it would cost 10 mil + reasonable wages. Getting really fed up with Royal passive approach to attacking :D . But I admit it would be weird to have then Royal, Doherty, Spence, Traore as RWB options with Moura also being used there ....

Well, apparently Royal did not want to come. Turned out fine in the end. Although we don't have italians in the team to bed Bastoni in, but quite a few around the team.

OK Antonio, if you say so...
Well i
Which ones that we wanted were available and signed for other teams?

It's a trick question, by the way. No one has a scooby who we really wanted and didn't get. The only one we can be sure of is Bastoni and he just loooves Inter.

Well if that’s your take, this discussion is wasted energy as you total blind faith in the the running of the club and won’t question any decision that it makes. Good or bad. Just nod your head.

All right, chill out, friend.

Why are you so triggered? Calm down, dear.

One is allowed to have an opinion. One is allowed to question decisions that the club makes.

You should change your name to cretinousSHEEP. As that’s what you are. A sheep. Nodding along in line with whatever the club says with an complete abandonment of constructive scrutiny.

Sad little man. Sad little sheep.

You do seem to repeatedly look for something to complain about. it genuinely feels like we could sign 20 players and win the quadrouple. But if they don't have a 95 on Fifa and cost £80m, then you wouldn't be happy.
That's just how all your posts come across, whether you mean it or not.

Merely emphasising how utterly fucking negative you constantly are. There is no transfer window in the world that we could do that would please you.

We got our main business done early and because of that have been quiet since, concentrating on outgoings

Seems like you and a handful of other usual suspects can’t handle that.

After the Yves signing I said on this forum that. I think we have turned a corner and things are looking up. We got the deal done in a very unspursy way. In the way big clubs operate…
I would say my tacit enthusiasm continued with the Richy deal. But since then, that enthusiasm and optimism has disintegrated. It feels we are going for cheaper options once again.
