Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Rich looked a bit poor at RW for Everton, but Sonny is 2 footed and Zaha has RW experience so I see the point you two are making.

I’d be happy with this transfer as it adds some X factor, but does depend a bit on Zaha’s attitude, would he be happy with being a rotation option?

Zaha doesn’t belong at a top 6 club if he won’t fight for his place. If he wants to start no question he should never leave Palace.

But maybe he doesn’t see it as useful for this Spurs squad.
He passed up on Eriksen and apparently vetoed Maddison.

Do we know he ‘passed up’ on Eriksen? Him personally? Or were his wage demands just out of line with the clubs philosophy? That feels more likely.

Him passing on Maddison makes sense, to be honest. He’s very good but has well covered attitude issues & would’ve cost the world to bring in.

Conte played a 3-4-3 at Chelsea too & had Fabregas in the squad who scored 5 & assisted 12 in the league when they won the title.

Myth he doesn’t utilise creative midfielders needs to die.

Fabregas only started 13 games in the league that year though and rarely started against the better clubs because he couldn't keep up most of the time. Legs were gone.

I'm sure though if we found someone half as good as Fabregas available for a decent fee, we'd have likely made the deal. The fact Eriksen was free and we passed up should tell you all you need to know.

Conte has shown he can utilise a creative midfielder but that Chelsea team would have won the league without Fabregas regardless. Kante and Matic were fantastic that year. His full backs contributed successfully and Hazard and Costa were deadly.

If our right wing back can contribute on par with Perisic, Hojbjerg and Bentancur can continue to be solid, Kulusevski can contribute like Fabregas did and Kane and Son can be deadly, I'm sure we'll be just fine.

No but there’s levels to it.
We already have a 60m back up on the wing, and our current front 3 are class.

He’d arguably get more game time at any other club in the world bar maybe Liverpool. He’s certainly start more at City, Chelsea, Woolwich etc.

Difference between being a rotation option competing with 1 player compared to competing with 2 players.

He does utilize. But much less than atraditional box to box like he loves to do. And fabregas was the 12th Chelsea player. Not a starter. Oh and fabregas was still very good. If we had a guy like him he would play. But I don’t think he would necessary buy a fabregas.

Paul Okeefe said it was Conte who vetoed Maddison while others at Spurs were keen. That makes it unlikely to be a financial issue. His attitude has also been good recently.

With Eriksen it’s harder to tell, but if we really wanted him we could pay him a higher sign on fee (free transfer), and then moderate wages.
I doubt we’d pass up on a free transfer for financial reasons.

5 players into 3 spots with tons of games. He will get lots of game time if he came, he would get more games at say Chelsea for sure but our fixtures are crazy and 3 spots is a lot of places to compete for if you are good enough.

I said before. Unless Conte stumbles across a generational talent available for free (Pirlo) , joins a team with a creative genius in the squad (Fabregas) or one is offered to him at their peak (Eriksen) , he isn't going to prefer to get one over all else . And even then, rumours were he didn't want Eriksen when he was at Inter anyway.

He'd much prefer solidarity in that midfield. The Vidals, the Matics, the Kantes, the Hojbjergs. They're the winners in there.

5 players for 3 spots doesn’t sound too bad, but when you consider how good our front 3 are and Rich’s potential; it’s quite a barrier.

The fact he’d start more at City is a compliment to our attack… but is also why he could get frustrated if he does come.

You've changed your tune ...

Udogie doesn’t count. Will contribute nothing to this season so stop clutching at straws. Bet I’m right.

We are not signing another player mate. I have said this for ages now. Latest KP tweet is pretty much sealed it for me. We will get this Udogie in, who’s back on loan anyway so doesn’t really count, then we will try selling the cast offs towards deadline. Guarantee we sign nobody else for this season

Yeh said it all along on here. Personally don’t think we will sign another player now. This Udogie, but he’s going back on loan anyway.

Well you will need to accept it, as that’s what’s happening. Spurs won’t be making anymore signings so the quicker you don’t get annoyed if we don’t the better.

Any money we don’t sign another player.

I don’t think we will see a new signing period.

Spence was the last one in my opinion. Quicker we accept that and hope that’s enough with the quality of our squad the better.

I’ll reiterate what i said a few weeks back. I personally feel Spence will be our last signing

Based on previous. Getting all our targets now and I personally think Spence will be our last signing

I don’t know, but i do know spurs and Levy mate. I get that feeling when our business is done.

I personally think Spence will be our last signing. Are people happy with this? I don’t think we are going to go all out for this other CB now Lenglet is here and I certainly don’t think we are spending big on a CAM either.

He has 10 goals and 12 assists in 5877 minutes of Prem football since he signed for United. A goal or assist every 3 games.

Over the same period, Traore has 8 goals and 13 assists in 7,210 minutes. So a goal or assist every 3.8 games.

There actually isn't too much in it. However Traore has 1 goal and 0 assists in his last 26 prem games.

Both links don't really make sense as neither would be brought in to play as wing depth, but likely at wing back.

Neither are good enough to be here.
What is the point bringing them in for WB role. We already 2 mediocre rwbs in royal and Doh with silence untried. I’d rather give spence a go than convert Adama or janes. We were supposed to upgrading the WBs not down grading. We are filling our squad with mediocre players. Fock just keep Gil and give him the chance to develop with the first team squad. Said it many a time why buy him then loan him to only then bring a replacement who is no better?

I think we can forget the idea of a creative midfielder seeing as Conte has in his head a system of playing that players either suit or they don't.
I guess we have to trust him and the rest of the set up to get this right especially as the gooners look very slick admittedly it's only a few games in but they are looking better compared to our sluggish start.
