Don’t really know how good Morgan Gibbs White is, 35 year old Jordan Henderson is in the squad over him

Edit: lol this analogy has already been used twice my bad.

Senesi is good. Was one of the 5 best CBs in the Pl this year. He has weaknesses yes but I will take 3 years of stamped PL excellence over any international bollocks. Dont overreact to who looks good in the World Cup this summer.
Argentina's national team is also heavily driven by internal player politics.

Mauro Icardi was one of the best strikers going in the 2010s but he has made a total of 8 caps for Argentina because he made an enemy of Messi and the rest of the players that were friends with Maxi Lopez.

And Scaloni has as someone else said, a lot of loyalty to the players that won them the world cup.

Senesi instantly becomes our best CB. so no chance he starts on the bench.

Please be true. Palhinha is a good story and can leave as a legend for keeping us up. He should NOT be our 6 of the future. Just let him go back to his home country and live his twilight years in peace and let us go get a top 6 with real passing range.

Upgrading Palhinha would be an excellent first step to making De Zerbi ball a success next season.

He is one of the best 6's out there with stats that are good from a Defensive and attacking sense.

Cmon man he very obviously is a limited player. Blood and thunder and excellent in the air and tackling and I’ll always love him for THAT goal last Sunday. But ffs he cannot pass a football. Look at how we built up in possession with and without him, De Zerbi shunted him as far away from the ball as possible because he knows how technically limited he is.

We can and must do better.

Well disagree completely. Senesi has literally stood out for the highest pressing team in the league under Iraola at Bournemouth lol. He just won their player of the season.

He's a better CB than VDV. He's better on the ball, he's better off the ball. SO I am not sure why you are saying he's not better than VDV and never will be. We've just seen VDV put in two poor seasons in a row, and you are acting like he's a world beater lol.

VDV is faster and more physically imposing in the duels. Hes a completely different world carrying the ball, and he’s got so much better in the air this season.

Senesi’s data benefits from being in a stable team and system. It’s not comparable to the last 2 years of Spurs chaos VDV has been lumbered in.

In a pressing team, you need players to compensate for Senesi’s lack of pace. VDV is the player that compensates for about 3 other players in your team that aren’t as quick.

On our transitional way back to the top 6 I still think Palhinha has a role to play for a year or two. The squad needs to learn to fight and how to force wins. Joao sets a very good example and can lead with experience. As mentioned before, get rid of Bissouma and Sarr before replacing Joao.
