I'm not against the idea but it's a risk going into a season with just him and Dom, taking it that Richy will be off.
Lanks is at an important time where he needs to be playing and if we bring in another senior striker, he's not going to get much playing time here.

The dream would be for him to get a chance in pre-season and explode from there but the reality and probably sensible thing is probably to give him another season in loan.

I do think that he, Moore and Phillips (obviously Vuskovic too) should all be given pre-season to show what they can do, maybe even until January depending on our business and fitness of current options.
I'd like to see Devine given a chance too.

I was looking on Transfrmarket at the strikers in world football, and it's pretty bleak. If we're willing to throw silly money at Savinho I would sooner we tried for Marmoush but him aside, the list is either uninspiring or unattainable. Mateta sprung out but think he failed a medical in January? Nicholas Jackson is a cunt....so he can fuck off.

Old man grumble but in my teens the PL strikers were fucking outrageous. Even just the English ones.

Supposedly a decently reliable Napoli journalist.

Vergara is a 10. 23 years old.

You gonna sign someone called Vergara, do it right...

Season 16 Dancing GIF by America's Got Talent

Watching back clips of di zerbi teams in full flow its quite clear that the vast majority of the passing is short sharp and crisp. Theres really very little sweeping long passes and even through balls are mostly on the ground for somebody to run onto.
I can massively see why we've been linked to baleba and Scott. They are perfect profile both to dominate the centre of the pitch (baleba) and also be very comfy on the ball, creating those movements and lovely little passes in tight areas (scott).
If only we could regen dembele he would be a balloon dor winner in a di zerbi team.

Baleba/Gray
Scott/bentancur

Im hoping for that or similar.

Sure.... but also to be fair.... Gift Orban was a complete lack of humility from said poster.
I wasn't about for that but I remember getting caught up in the brief hype on SC because the kid had a spell of putting up superb numbers but it was just a flash in the pan.

I also desperately wanted Charles de Ketalaire (sp) and still haven't quite given up on that, even though I've not got a clue how he's been getting on over the past couple of years! 🤣

I'm just a football slag and easily persuaded into bed. 😳🤣

Yeah, this is surely the worst ever time for strikers, at least that I can remember.

There is no real value at striker or left wing so Marmoush makes perfect sense as he can play both. Rather put money we'd save from a Savinho or Summerville towards him and keep Moore around as well. Spend the money on difference makers.

Completely agree, you need a balance across passing, physicality, dribbling, stamina and work rate, but if you skew too heavily towards ball carriers over passers you can end up needing to rebalance the squad again.
That’s why I’m keen on the Scott’s and Baleba’s they are not just one dimensional. They give you that. Theyre not just head down ball carriers. They can pass, they know when to pass. Baleba fallen off the last year but he’s got the ability to recover imo.

I just don’t want a Huddlstone or Wharton or Hackney(only seen him twice tbf)and put him next to someone who has to do a lot of the other stuff to make up for it. I don’t think football works like that because there’s going to be points in games that they will have to do that stuff

I quite like a back four of:

VDV - Senesi - Vuskovic - Porro
Starters: Micky - Senesi - Danso - Djed

Subs: Robbo - Stones - Vusko - Dumfries

If we ever need to, Pally can deputise as a CB...could also give minutes to Jun'ai.

Re Dumfries - his value has gone down cause he missed 20 or so games for Inter last season. Also 30yo now. Let them have Vicario (and Udogie?) and we get him in return. Man knows a thing or two about scoring and assisting from RB. Would be good to also let that Rowswell kid play a few games.

Some very interesting 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 kids in the Champo. At CB there's Callum Doyle at Wrexham...sign him for a discie cause they get Ben and the kid stays on loan for another year? Also like that Seriki lad at Sheffield...24yo RB...got 1 goal and 5 assists last season. Could be another one we sign and loan back.

Team of the Season in the Bundesliga and a world class CB right now who is the single best player at the club, today.

You will all see the error of your ways soon.

World class, lol. I am not convinced there is a single definitive unarguable world class cb in football at the moment. It was VVD. That is world class.

A teenager playing for Hamburg who made a Bundesliga TOTY is definitely not world fucking class.

He’s a talent.

Is Kane totally a no? He is still the best all round CF in football in my honest opinion, two years, think of the lift it would give the whole club, break Shearers record and young Lankshear as his apprentice

By definition there must be. There isn’t a world class English centreback maybe.

Your pet loves down the road have two world class centrebacks unfortunately.

Still more than golden boy officer Dibling

For the record, I wanted Solanke to replace Kane as a pressing striker.

Didn’t go that much better tbf

The thing is Dibling can still come good, he's 20 years old so he's got plenty of time and I wanted him to be a squad option anyway whilst you on the other hand wanted Orban as our Harry Kane replacement just because he scored all thos goals in the Belgian league

Never change Arlison

The annoying thing is that on paper we really only need a striker and a winger this window as we are quite stacked in attacking areas.

But our injury crisis is so bad we have Maddison, Kulusevski, Odobert, Kudus and Simons all out or recovering.

As I said, it really fucks us over and it’s why we need to try and move all of Tel, Richy and Solanke on if we want to improve our attack. We’ve little choice.

I think he will be tempted to move this summer, he is delaying signing a new contract at Bayern and they won't want to lose him for free next summer......if he comes back to the UK it might be to ManUtd who need a proper striker. Sesko is terrible

Well disagree completely. Senesi has literally stood out for the highest pressing team in the league under Iraola at Bournemouth lol. He just won their player of the season.

He's a better CB than VDV. He's better on the ball, he's better off the ball. SO I am not sure why you are saying he's not better than VDV and never will be. We've just seen VDV put in two poor seasons in a row, and you are acting like he's a world beater lol.
To say VDV has put in 2 poor seasons in a row is a bit unfair. The season just gone was mostly with Frank in charge then Tudor. The previous season he was injured for most of the time.
